Also found on slideroom FAQ: How do I edit a submitted application? # If you wish to edit a completed submission, please contact the institution directly (you can reach them by using their contact information on your dashboard or on their main website) and request they unsubmit your portfolio. Once they grant this request, you will be able to make edits and resubmit for free.

I don't know anything about GSA and what they want, but I would put together something that shows what you are most interested in. Just based on a quick glance, I find the drawings and paintings that seem to have more psychological content (over disfigurement) the most compelling. Maybe someone else will weigh in though. Good luck!

Your link doesn't work.
-
It's definitely worth a try!

Can't see the screenshots, but that sounds nerve wracking...how'd it go?

It seems that each program is a little different, I would email or call each particular school. For example USC said to upload the same document, UCSD said you could as long as you covered all the areas they asked for in the artist statement, but UCLA wants different ones and I think it would be a mistake to have significant overlap (more than minor references).

Can't you look ahead and see? All the applications I've done allowed me to save and continue without having filled in everything first.

Hi Erpnope, If you don't mind, I'm just wondering if Yale is what you hoped it would be? What are its pros and cons, in terms of your experience, so far?
-
Yah! Way'ta go! Wow 10, I'm in awe. I'm not done yet, but soon...
-
This is not my area but I like the tone of the convo here so I have looked in a couple of time...and hey, I'm Canadian! Just thought I'd chime in with a reminder that may or may not be useful in your program. I have asked my letter writers to add info that I haven't had room for...including experience outside of academia—from my CV.

I visited CalArts in the Fall and submitted my application last week (to art, not graphic design). What do you want to know?

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that the deadline is one minute after Dec 31 at 11:59. Get your app in today!!
-
Having said "tomorrow" so confidently I'm now feeling pretty uncomfortable. Here is a discussion about it elsewhere from another year. Seems their deadline is the same every year. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/common-application/839437-if-deadline-jan-1-do-i-have-until-dec-31st-11-59pm-jan-1st-11-59pm.html

It would have been helpful to phrase it 11:59 Jan 1st. Presumably people are back in the office on Jan 2nd, so I don't see any advantage to closing it down on the 1st. It is amazing how quickly doubt seeps in when instructions are ambiguous!
-
Also, from what I have read elsewhere, it isn't the end of the game if your submitters are late. There seems to be wiggle room for them.
-
Tomorrow.

Great, glad to hear that! ....and thanks!

I'm guessing that that is for another program and that you can ignore it (unless it shows it is required question in the form). A quick search shows that people applying to Yale's MBA program have to answer a live video question.

As far as the posters are concerned, I would err on the side of caution and show one poster well and say it is part of a series in the description—unless for some reason one poster is absolutely incomplete without the other one and the three are really one piece (like in a triptych, for example—even with a triptych though, one part can often convey enough for portfolio purposes). Detail shots are indeed different views or close-ups of the same project in different slides.

I am not applying to photo...but I'm ignoring the DPI because as far as I understand, it doesn't make any difference in terms of size or load time (and nobody can tell what dpi you upload). I'm just making sure that the resolution is as good as it can be within the file size that they ask for, which is anywhere from 2mb-10mb. Correct me if I'm wrong tho.
-
I don't know about you but I only want to attend one!
-
I am applying to six. There is no right number. I am only applying to programs that I would be happy to attend.

Sheesh, who makes their deadline NEW YEARS DAY! I haven't talked to the office, but this is the way I would read the instructions if I were in your situation. "unless you consider them absolutely necessary" is key here. I'd say that for some of pieces you're talking about it is "absolutely necessary." Those caveats are there for work like yours. "No more than two detail shots" means you can have two detail shots if what you are showing is different enough. Show the cover and two spreads of the book if they show different things—otherwise the cover and one spread. Show all three posters if they are substantially different in some important way...otherwise show one and explain the rest. The cover and the cards could be two different shots if necessary, but otherwise they should be in one shot. From the discussions about Yale apps from other years re: images/per slide, I believe it means only ONE image per slide. They don't want composite images. Don't do side by side presentations in photoshop, that is a composite image and they clearly don't want that. If you can't show everything, it's ok...they'll get the idea. Good luck!
-
If you can go longer, it might be good to say something a little more personal about what you are thinking—something that makes your work specifically yours—for whichever group of images you choose to submit. I think it would liven it up a little. There are some typos in the text on your website.

Thought provoking indeed!
