I'm pretty sure I'm just going to be in a continual state of freak out until I know where I'm going... Then I'll be freaking out about actual grad school. It never ends.

I applied BBSB. A few people have heard from that track already. I had an issue with my GRE scores being received there and my application was just finally complete today. I'm hoping they review without official scores. I was kind of hoping that it'd be like, "oh, we have her scores now! email her!" Haha wishful thinking.

Mine and my boyfriend's backup plan is for me to work a bench job and for us to open a bar. The results section is freaking me out. People posting interviews from two days ago today made me think Yale emailed someone today...

I wonder how many lurkers there are here. I feel like we're going to be at interviews and people are going to be like "oh yeah! I know you!" Awkward. Haha.

Also waiting on Princeton. Did you all apply Biology@Princeton? I did molecular bio and structural bio, in that order.

Finally got a hold of someone at Yale BBS to fix my GRE score problem! Ugh. The apostrophe in my last name is messing everything up.

I got a 5.5. I really think it depends on who reads your paper. I write very straight forward (scientically) and thoroughly. Also make sure you follow the directions! A lot of people lose points here.

Emailed BU and she fixed my GRE problem. Application is now finally complete there! Hoping for good news tomorrow.

How can you tell if they have your official scores? Their application is so confusing!

They have my transcript (that can be checked with a straight up email to a department) but not my scores

Anyone else applying Harvard BBS and they don't have your official GRE scores yet? I called admissions today and this really nice woman tried to comfort me (the apostrophe in my last name messes everything up...) but now I'm worried since apparently they're sending invites this Saturday.

I think they'd only matter if 1) you fail major classes or 2) you're on a wait list of some sort. If they don't require interim reports, I just wouldn't send them or mention them if you don't think it will help you.

Prepare for a Saturday celebration/commiseration party?? I'll bring the alcohol.

Thanks for the reply! I knew their first deadline for rolling admission was today but I assumed they wouldn't start reviewing until Monday. Must be working on Sundays.

I'm starting to doubt the results forum. Anyone here post the Dartmouth MCB offer? Their website says they won't even start reviewing until tomorrow. Hm.

I would look or even email potential schools to see what the requirements are. I'm almost on the opposite end of your problem- I'm a biochemistry major, but I've only taken gen bio, genetics, cell, and biochem 1&2. My background is much more chemistry focused. I know a lot of the websites say they look for people from a variety of backgrounds who they think will be successful in the program. I think you should be just fine, just take a few extra classes senior year if you can.

I feel like Harvard might be going through more apps each day and emailing their top choices right away... that's all I can think that makes sense. My app is complete there, fingers crossed!

Also did you apply to Cornell Biophysics? If so can you let me know when they send offers? Apparently I won't get rejected twice (how nice of them) and biophysics will only email me if they accept me.

I applied to Harvard BBS and Princeton Molec Bio with a focus in either Biochem or Biophysics. The only other straight biophysics program I applied to was Johns Hopkins Molecular Biophysics. I stayed close to biochemistry because I thought that's what I was more suited for- but maybe not? Haha.

I put biophysics as my second choice. I'm not getting my hopes up for it. This just scares me because I got rejected so quickly from Cornell, my chances are probably slim at other top tiers.

Rejected from Cornell BMCB even before they have all my LORs. I wonder if they had a GPA cutoff. (3.71 in my major here) they're sending my app over to Biophysics for consideration. Great addition to finals week.

I've heard that it depends on the program. Apparently for a lot of top tier schools they'll still cut an amount of people after the interview (they have the money to do so) but for the lower tiers often an interview is pretty much a guaranteed in unless you totally mess it up. Guess there's no way to be sure.
