Probably just a year. I have 2 strong LORs (PI from my school and a PI from my REU) and one that may be so-so (I was in her class and I TAed for her) so I really only need one more. I also don't really want to delay my PhD too long.
I've been googling like "science jobs in _____" to look for pharm companies. I also look at schools in the area. I would definitely need a job that could get me a good LOR and more experience to help for next year.
I'm thinking about adding RPI Chem/Biochem and UAlbany Nanoscale Science with a focus in molecular structures. RPI gave me a fee waiver. I'm from the area so it would be convenient. My boyfriend still has hopes for Yale so I'm also looking at jobs in the New Haven area.
Quote from email from BU PiBS coordinator : "Applications are still under review at this time. You shall be hearing back shortly."
Any guesses on what "shortly" means?
I just sent an email as a reply from something she sent me a while back, so maybe she'll notice and reply tomorrow. I'm at the mental point where I just want to know and move on. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything.
Haha true! I feel like when I get an interview I can at least spend my time researching faculty, reading papers, and maybe starting to look for apartments. I don't want to get my hopes up for any school in particular so I'm trying to avoid their webpages. A lot of netflix is being watched...
I'm so confused about where I stand with BU. I got an email right after I submitted my application from the chair saying I was a "highly competitive candidate" and he looked forward to meeting me but I was missing LORs in order for them to review my app. (Computer system glitch). Also I had a GRE score issue and they didn't have my official scores until late December. I really hope all the invites haven't gone out!
End rant. Haha
