  1. So I contacted one of the students of IHEID about the whole postponement issues. She gave me her two cents on the issue which I am sharing with you guys! "Postponement is neither a bad nor a good sign. IT means that they want to evaluate you against other people applying. MDev this year had a way larger yield than the years before, therefore MDev has almost 100 students. I believe that this is part of the story, since they don't want to have another overbooked class." So I guess IHEID is just trying to play it safe as Alchyna said and choose the best out of the lot in the second round. Though I think in that case, they should have just scrapped the early admission for interdisciplinary programmes. Anyway!
  2. Last year they were few people who were given admissions in interdisciplinary programmes in the first round. You can still find their posts on the FB page. This time I haven't come across any like any acceptance for MDev yet. It's 20th today, one more day before Christmas break. Have you guys heard or know someone who got through?
  3. Yes exactly. Mickmun88 got it right. I read it somewhere that the institutes does that as they know that not everyone will be joining the course as everyone has diff top choices. Thus, institutes generally choose two to three candidates for every one seat.
  4. That's what I thought too mickun88 hence I came to the conclusion that they didn't take any ones me just postponed all their interdisciplinary decisions. I mean we all can't be that worse off. Also thanks thedoublebarrel for the wishes. I got into 5 schools as of now. Only one is my top choice along with IHEID. Waiting. Waiting

  13. Sure Facebook seems fine Do you own an apple device? We could imsg if you want.
  14. Thanks curious_grad. I hope IHEID too takes their result out ASAP. As for my letter of motivation, I would say focus on why do you want to do the course. That's the most imp thing. I dedicated just a bit on my why do I want to do it from sciences Po. Most part I covered was my future ambitions both short and long term goals plus why the course. Hope this helps. Pls free to pm me if you have any more questions.
  15. While that is absolutely correct and I dread the possibility of PhD. Though I am most of times indecisive and hence wanted all bases covered. Does that make sense? I guess I should just stick to my career driven degree option and not leap to other places.
  16. yes i am but the thing is, I was looking into some UN websites for job profiles and eligibility criteria. What i came across is many organizations prefer either PhD in some field or 5-7 years of work exp. So well, hence I was thinking along those lines too. Though frankly, Academia is NOT my cup of tea.
  17. Though I might just apply for PhD so I was thinking that if i do, wont Oxford's MPhil be a good option? Idk what do you guys think?
  18. I wanted to apply for the Mphil in Development Studies too at Oxford. Though it's more like academic and research oriented so I sorted dropped the plan. I am glad you completed the essays.
  19. Just stay positive. Btw where else have you applied apart from IHEID?
  20. Don't worry, sciences Po is like our Christmas gift. It shall be there for you too. I mean for all of us who were postponed for IHEID.
  21. Like I said. Good sign. It will be so awesome if you get through the first round.
  22. Thank you Still pining over Geneva. Anyway did you check your status? I mean for Sciences Po
  23. Exactly my line of thoughts. Have they even bloody taken anybody? Like seriously. Mickun88 you are the only one who hasn't received it.
