  1. I don't mean to prolong the anticipation but when i looked back a few pages, someone from the advanced standing said their status changed around 5:25pm on a Friday.
  2. No issues with mine, hope this gets sorted out for you soon!
  3. I remember that, but it seems strange to send out any offers if that is the case :/
  4. Where it says "No Registration" - that will change to accepted/invited
  5. I could be wrong but believe it was spaced out and some found out via snail mail. My guess is they're doing rolling admissions as well. RE: ROSI - I tried to convince myself if I stay off of it, U of T will have the chance to update it haha
  6. I think we need to coordinate a support group meet up for those of us left hanging on a FRIDAY haha
  7. Any other 2 Year U of T applicants with an unchanged status?
  8. Mine hasn't changed yet either, hang in there!
  9. I do agree that we should stop contacting Angela if it is only regarding admission related questions. However, I do not think people are "freaking out" so much as they are feeling anxious and eager - myself included Please remember you were also once in the same position as us and people handle this kind of stress very differently especially if they have other circumstances not related to the situation to deal with. Let's continue to keep this a supportive space!
  10. @mish2 I know of a previous applicant who applied for WLU's MSW program and completed the thesis option. I do not recall if they were a 1 or 2 Year applicant, if you want to message me I can forward you the information they sent me regarding some questions I had as well as their posting "name" on this forum so you can try and contact them. Hope this helps
  11. I would hope that maybe she meant that the applications have been organized and the ones that were incomplete or did not meet the minimum department requirements have been eliminated and now it's a matter of scoring eligible applications. I was the individual who received this email from Angela: On Tue, Mar 3, 2015 at 4:18 PM, Angela Umbrello <angela.umbrello@utoronto.ca> wrote: Hello, Thanks for the updated Resume – it will be added to your file. This year, admission offer letters for the two-year MSW Program will be sent out from mid-March to mid-April. As decisions are mailed out, your status on the On-line application will be changed to Decision Made. By mid-April all MSW decisions will be sent out. Due to the high volume of applicants, we are not able to respond to messages regarding when a decision will be made on an application. We ask for your continued patience. Best regards, Angela Umbrello Administrative Coordinator, Admissions & Programs Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto If they have not yet started reviewing eligible applications I can only hope that they have a large admissions committee with a standard scoring procedure that allows them to move quickly!
  12. @dexy77 I had a friend who went to York and she was telling me that a new administrative assistant in one of the admissions offices had made several mistakes similar to this, so I wonder if it was the social work department! While I find the term "York'd" absolutely fitting and humourous I hope things get straightened out for you. I have been in a similar position as you! Good luck!
  13. @2yearMSW Your letter would indicate whether or not your offer is conditional as well as outline what those conditions are contingent on. Offers for U of T will hopefully start coming out in the next few weeks, but I can not speak to York or Windsor as I am not familiar with their timeline of admissions. However, most universities will look at your most recent grades in addition to the other documents that were sent with your application (ex. reference letters, statement of interest, CV etc.) to make a decision. Typically, if you are offered a conditional acceptance the university would require you to maintain a certain average for the semester or specific to the course. In some cases conditional offers are made with a request that you complete a course in the summer prior to entering the program (ex. research methods).
  14. @selis has your status on ROSI or the SGS Admissions page changed at all?
  15. I'm basing my estimate on wishful thinking since I am not doing well with this anticipation. According to the email confirming that my application had been received Laurier will be sending their offers out Early April: Your MSW application package has been received. Electronic Offers of Admission to the MSW two year full-time program will begin to be sent out early April using the email address provided in your application. **Please note: Email is the primary form of communication during the application process. 16. I am in the same boat as you, even though I doubt any statuses will change until the end of this week or more likely next week I can not help but keep checking haha Good luck!
  17. @goodnews did you apply for Advanced Standing or the 2 Year Programs?
  18. I was not able to attend the information sessions this year - was there anything else U of T commented on that they highly consider? I am aware they do look at applicants with a holistic view, but it is interesting to hear the different factors that universities base their decisions on when it comes down to selecting applicants. With that in mind, did anyone attend Laurier's information session?
  19. Hi sondrealizabeth so far I have not heard anything from U of T or Laurier either! I feel as though we are a very eager bunch of applicants this year haha
  20. @YWEANG thank you for sharing your experience, I hope things have since turned around for you!
  21. @swrk I spent last Friday baking two dozen pumpkin muffins and three dozen brownies - managed to make them healthy too! Unfortunately, it does not seem to matter whether I am baking, cooking, working, volunteering or at the gym this is constantly in the back of my mind haha
  22. Congratulations from one Hamiltonian to another
  23. Glad to see that the email has calmed some people or at the very least provided a definite answer for others! @swrk I wish I could take my mind off of it, instead I find myself on a countdown and eager for the weeks to pass haha
  24. My guess is that it has less to do with "alphabetical order" or "specialization streams" and more to do with the deadlines that other universities have placed on their acceptances. In other words, if I remember correctly U of T has typically been the last school to send out their letters to applicants which I imagine is why their waitlist might see a bit more movement than other schools. It's nice to see that they're doing this earlier as it will also make the decision process for students a little less costly since I read somewhere that there is a deposit or fee students pay to hold their acceptance/spot.
