Does advanced standing applicants hear back earlier if they are accepted or not? Im asking because don't the 1 year programs start in the summer, like May or June?

I applied here as well. The website did not state anything about mailing in my transcript by the January 20th deadline. I just checked my status and they said they need it and it was due Jan 20th. I just put in for my college to mail them the transcript, I hope SJSU still accept's my application.

Well because they said the average gpa a person has when entering is a 3.5. and i don't have that. and theres 400+ applicants. but never know what could happen! im hopeful

what program did you choose? I chose the advanced standing but i doubt i'll get into that one, im hoping they'll consider me for the 2 or 3 year if not.

I emailed the graduate assistant from SDSU, and she said that they are looking for a minimum of a 4 on the analytical writing portion

I've sent in my materials to SDSU December 8th, and my webportal says everything was received, and its currently under review for department eligibility. This is going to be a long4-5 months wait to hear a decision!

Im from Nor cal as well. I went to SDSU in undergrad and moved back to the bay. I really like San Diego, so SDSU is my top choice just because of the area, and i know the professors were really great. The only thing is my GPA wasn't too high, so I doubt ill get in. My second would be long beach though.

The personal statment prompt for SJSU statesIn the autobiographical statement (maximum 2,000 words or 8 pages), What if my 8 pages exceed 2,000 words ? is it still okay since it doesn't go over 8 pages? im confused

The prompt for SDSU states to describe your capacity with diverse populations & tell what motivated you to choose the field of social work. In order to describe my capacity, I feel like I must explain different experiences I've had with different populations and describe what I did to help each person & what I learned from that experience.. is this a good way of doing it?? The prompt doesn't really state they would like to know about my background or anything
