It's almost worse now that the maintenance notification is up. By this time tomorrow, one way or another, we should know. 
Or the maintenance is for something else and NSF will continue to be our cruel overlords.

Wow. From the bottom of my heart, I wish all of you the best of luck. Admittedly my anxiety for this did not hit hard until the last month or so, but I can not imagine what it would have been like without this thread of fellow applicants stressing away with me. 
Even through the negative trolling, whether you have been a frequent “poster” or just a casual reader on the forum...I truly believe those who visit sites like this, ask questions, and pester NSF/PI’s are the go-getting scientists of the future. 
It has been an honor.

This is frustrating and exhausting at this point..

I had a dream that i woke up in a panic around 3am and checked my phone and had an email with a link to the fastlane grfp page. The "2018 season is closed" headline was changed to the title of my research proposal and it was a link. But I tried to click on it and it was broken. Guys I'm done.

@harshingig The community on here is just trying to pass the time and vent about a topic that they may not feel comfortable discussing with their peers in real life. You are also willingly on this forum and, if you feel this forum is no longer useful to you, you are welcome to leave. Instead, you choose to post a judgmental comment that is not only condescending, but hypocritical. I sincerely hope this attitude does not "carry over into your research career", since science thrives on respectful communication, which your comment significantly lacks. And yes, for the purpose of this grant it is likely the money is more important than the research, since the NSF-GRFP does not fund the project, it funds the researcher, which means there is a strong likelihood that a number of the proposed research topics will never actually be investigated. I am happy that you are secure enough in your lab that you don't require the additional funding to pursue the projects that excite you, but that is not the case for everyone, as their are some that require the funding from this grant to actually do the research, like myself.

^That information is awesome and is also totally making me rethink my entire application as I go through it in my head. 

honestly i have a feeling it's going to be next week, but we've waited this long at this point one more week isn't too bad hahah

The waiting twice a week is killing me. 

I feel that. The days between are freaking awful. Refreshing Fastlane every two hours is how I'm staying sane at this point.
