Hello all! I had been waitlisted from Washington University's Sam Fox School in St. Louis. I just received an acceptance letter from them this morning, with a 50% scholarship.
I had applied to U C Irvine, Tulane New Orleans, and Boise State (family there), and was rejected by those 3. I had a professor drag his feet for 1 month in getting his letter of recommendation out, and at least 1 rejection told me that because my documentation was incomplete, they could not consider my application. (So, I don't know how much that played a role in the other rejections).
My head is spinning because I had pretty much already resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't be accepted this round, and I would start early this fall with more funds to apply to at least 10 places. I am struggling financially out here in California, applying for better employment, and would have to scramble now to figure out how to get out there and get a new place, etc.
Has anyone else been accepted by Sam Fox, and are you going? From my research, it seems to be a fantastic school and I may really regret not accepting; however, I really want to teach when I graduate and there is no guarantee of an assistantship. I really wanted a program that offered a full scholarship, with a graduate assistantship offered with acceptance.
So confused. I would love to hear some thoughts! Thank you.
