I feel pretty good about my decision too. Even more so now that I've gotten to visit the campus and meet the faculty in person.. No blahs here, thankfully, although the moment of turning down an offer does sting for a few hours beyond the act.

For the record, I'm an undergrad at TAMU (no experience as a grad student here, so I can't speak to that), but the department has some wonderful faculty and offers some great classes. I've had grad students teach my English courses before, so I know they are not all just "glorified graders".

Yeah, this. My thesis is suffering pretty badly, although I think it's mostly because I'm excited to get started at my program rather than using procrastination as a poison to get through the season at this point.

I already rewrote it for Villanova, but I would salvage that one when I reapply for PhDs, probably, assuming my research interests don't change. WS might be a different story though.

I'm sorry that you're in a stressful situation, but it really is a great thing to have to stress out about! Viable options! Congratulations, that's awesome

I sincerely wish it was you as well! It only said "Under Review" for a couple of days (it was a nine-day turnaround from submission to notification. Talk about timely). I am crossing all of my appendages in hopes that you and I will be cohorts next year I definitely wouldn't worry about the amount of time it's taking.. I think there are only two other acceptances up other than mine, and I know they take more students than that. Thank you so much! I really, really appreciate that

I really think most places notify fellowships early, so it's very possible that they haven't notified anyone. But no, I don't think you would bother the DGS by contacting and asking about your status. She really is incredibly sweet.

I'm seriously so excited. I booked a flight already and am going to look for apartments in early April. I really think an MA was the right path for me, even though I am a little disappointed I didn't get into any PhD programs. And I know; that fellowship is going to make my life much easier. It was totally unforeseen.. I've been so lucky. Thanks for being so excited for me

The email I received from the DGS said that the english department had "completed their deliberations". I was awarded a fellowship, so they may have notified me early (only seen one other acceptance go up, and that was in Feb). Don't worry yet! I submitted my app a day before you, so it wasn't too late. Don't give up hope!

Got my rejection today so I was able to make my acceptance at Villanova official this afternoon very excited.

I know the english department has finished deliberations, but the communications department might be holding you back from getting your notification. I would imagine they're not as fast as the english department (who could blame them?!). I'm so excited about the program and the location and really the whole deal! I'll be visiting in early April and I'm counting the days. Fingers crossed we'll be cohorts!
