  7. Can someone tell me? Why do universities want to know what other universities I'm apply to? I'm sure you all have to answer that question in the application form. Why? Should I be honest? The thing is that I'm applying to 10 and there is only space for 4-5! Thanks in advance!

Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL/WashU) UC Irvine (UCI) UC Davis (UCD) UC Santa Cruz (UCSC) Cornell Harvard Stanford Indiana University New York University (NYU) the application process is more daunting than i thought. i've registered an account at all of the schools above except stanford because i couldn't find its online application (can anyone help?) i've ordered transcripts; had some recommendation letters submitted...still, i'm inudated by the gre verbal. sigh!
  10. my verbal is 430. am i wasting my time to apply? besides my abysmal gre score my application is relatively strong (good LOR, research experience, teaching experience, etc). english is not my native language. i'm finding the gre really hard. :oops:

  12. urojas17, My research will focus on an alternative health movement in China. Thanks for your valuable advice about GRE. Chinese is my native language and I don't have a lot of experience in standarized test. GRE is really my biggest obstacle! I'm applying to 10 schools: Cornell, Harvard, UW in Seattle, UCD, NYU, UCI, Chicago, Stanford, WUSTL, Indiana Uni. papayadance, I did my Master degree at the University of Edinburgh. Is there anything that I can help?
  13. urojas17, you should be fine. i would focus on the personal statement. are you focusing on china area? may i ask which schools you're applying to? i'm struggling to narrow down my choices. english is not my native language. i didn't do well in verbal. my Q is similar to yours. can you share your experience in studying the verbal section? many thanks!
