Wow. From the bottom of my heart, I wish all of you the best of luck. Admittedly my anxiety for this did not hit hard until the last month or so, but I can not imagine what it would have been like without this thread of fellow applicants stressing away with me.
Even through the negative trolling, whether you have been a frequent “poster” or just a casual reader on the forum...I truly believe those who visit sites like this, ask questions, and pester NSF/PI’s are the go-getting scientists of the future.
It has been an honor.
-engineerwoacause....out!

This seems likely. In 2016, the results came out the Tuesday after Easter.

I feel that. The days between are freaking awful. Refreshing Fastlane every two hours is how I'm staying sane at this point.

Must have happened within the last hour.... Hopefully they skip this Friday nonsense and just release the list now, tonight or tomorrow. Friday at the latest.
Finally joining the thread. I have been checking this thread and others frequently for about a month now. Good luck everyone.

The 2017 List of Awardees has been reloaded.
Maybe it's a sign that Friday will be the day!

I feel like this is a sick game that NSF is playing with us and they are just lurking this forum waiting for us to be defeated before they release

So the best thing I can think of to do right now is to figure out the processing time, add 5 business days excluding holidays for the various delays (1 government shutdown, 2 weather closures, and 2 days of extra processing of the hurricane-affected applications. I don't think there were any major delays (at least not multiple ones) in 2014, 2015, 2016, or 2017, but let me know if there is anything you know of.
I came up with two methods: one assuming a linear relationship between number and processing time, and another which is basically an average processing time.
2014: 100 business days of processing, so 0.007 days per applicant
2015: 100 business days of processing, so 0.006 days per applicant
2016: 104 business days of processing, so 0.006 days per applicant
2017: 98 business days of processing, some 0.007 days per applicant
Applicant Based: So let's say 0.0065 days per applicant assume 14k applicants, which makes 91 days with no delays and 96 with delays which was March 11 so rounded to March 13, but that didn't happen.
Pattern Based: Let's assume it takes approximately 100 business days rounded to the nearest Tuesday/Friday to release winners, we get 105 days of processing after adjusting for the delays, giving a date of 3/26 which is a Monday so round to Tuesday and get 3/27, this Tuesday.
So this indicates it is coming very soon but the error on this is probably plus or minus a week.

Oddly enough, the maintenance period did change a bit. From 10pm to 8am now..

fingers crossed for everyone. Please baby Jesus let us find out soon so that we can finally end the suffering and get on with it! I can’t do another week if this torture. I swear, several times a day I have an existential crisis because of this madness

It just occurred to me: is it possible that NSF wanted to wait to release the winners until they knew for certain that the appropriations bill would pass?

Yeah I interviewed for a social program last week and the grad students talked about some people who stood out in past interview weekends - people who were very cold and competitive (think Corinne on this season's Bachelor).

I hope my comment didn't upset you; I just know that after I was unsuccessful after my first round, I wanted people to be honest rather than give false hope. It's frustrating for everyone to tell you that your application is perfect and they don't know why you didn't get in when you feel like you must be missing something. I hoped to help you avoid going through this again in a year with the same limitations and the same outcome.
I would encourage you to browse Student Doctor Network; they come up against this issue a lot and people much more eloquent than me have explained the problem. Unfortunately, clinical psychology PhD programs generally require a degree of flexibility when it comes to location. Even if you were accepted to a school in Boston, you would likely have to move again for internship year, and possibly even again for a postdoc.
The bottom line is that applying to a small number of clinical psych programs in a highly competitive geographic area is like a high-school student only applying to a single school - Harvard. As impressive as the student might be, no college counselor is going to advise that course of action, because the odds are just not in their favor. The college counselor could look at the student's application and tell them that there are no obvious reasons why Harvard wouldn't accept them, just as there seem to be no obvious reasons you wouldn't be accepted, but there is no guaranteed formula for admission to Harvard, or a clinical psychology PhD program.
All of this only applies to clinical PhD programs, though. I have no experience with counseling programs and do not know anyone with experience with them, so I really can't speak to them.
