  1. Congrats Cazorla, well done!
  2. I hear you tinkerbell, me too!
  3. SAIS will release PhD info on the 17th now according to their updated website...
  4. Haha, well played. Opens up an interesting concept though - the implications of personally transferable acceptances... I wonder if that would be more or less efficient than the waitlist system... Anyone under? Fortune favors the bold, and all...
  5. Boazczoine, good thoughts. I think that is a good place to start. Additionally, don't forget that Philly got hit by a lot of snow and missed days are not one to one. A missed committee meeting because of snow may have taken a week or more to reschedule so on and so forth... I predict, with no justification at all, that friday will be the day. Who wants over and under?
  6. Thankfully most folks 'round these parts seem like decent, likeable folks, so there is that bright side.
  7. Yea, that was really bad. A future potential colleague, ladies and gents, a future potential colleague...
  8. A slow day at the races...
  9. The latest UVA acceptance is me, and as it is my first of the cycle, I am especially pumped! They are doing a rolling admission off of a list. I'm IR/Comp., so I can't speak for what may be happening on the American/Theory side of the house, though. Must say, this board has been a constant source of support. Congrats to all who have acceptances so far, and for those still waiting on some good news, good luck and keep with it!
  10. Yea, it was a rough day for sure... there is always tomorrow, though...
  11. Nicely done! Here's hoping phone calls not necessary for good news in the mail....
  12. RCD2 - congrats! Had you received a phone call before the letter?
  13. Some of those funding issues at GW and G'Town are the result of them being in a city where a handful of organizations are willing to fund students before they return back to government or the military. Conventional wisdom is that you personally should never pay to get a PhD, the ROI just isn't there. However, if work is willing to do it, then accepting an unfunded offer is much, much easier to do. Still, for those of us without independent wealth or someone else picking up the tab, those unfunded offers are just killer teases... Once again edited for terrible spelling
  14. Well, a really quiet day... What big ones are still out there? Harvard, Yale, JHU, Penn, and then some of the more specialty programs and those doing rolling admission... I don't know about you all, but I'm ready for this process to start coming to a close. My days will be much more productive when this is all finished shaking out...
