When I moved from North Carolina to the D.C. area I was looking for housing at this time. It was worth starting early because it allowed me to get an idea of what the costs were, where certain things were in relation to the university, and what kind of housing was available generally. I would say that you should keep looking, but don't expect to find a good fit until July or early August.
