  1. I'm slightly disappointed and a bit heartbroken I didn't get an interview offer. I can't wait to see the group that has been chosen this coming graduate year.
  2. If any heard from Northwestern ibis, Purdue University, UCLA, Nebraska, Brown, Princeton, or UCSD that would be interesting to hear.
  3. I'm completely bummed out because I only know for certain of 2 rejections with no interviews so far. I thought doing a post baccalaureate would give me the edge to get an interview, but even then I haven't heard anything. I was counting on the California Schools, but I guess I'll have to play the waiting game till Feb to see if I am completely unsuccessful or not. I just don't know if I should start taking an active approach and start calling PI or the admissions committee to see if I can make a complete turnaround like win potential scholarships or something.
  4. I would call them up and explain that you are living in the US and if it is possible if you can have an interview in person and if you will get reimburse.
  5. I'm hoping to hear some decent news today or I'm going to have a long weekend of application filling.
  6. That will hurt my gut if that happens. I'm starting to lose hope as the days go by without any interviews, and it doesn't help when I also have friends, co-workers, and family asking frequently. Don't get me wrong I probably wouldn't know for sure until after this month pass, but the anticipation and wait is killing me, especially since I'm action oriented. Currently, I'm just burned out. Does anybody know what to do or have any backup plans? I'll try to focus on my research again, probably look up potential scholarships (in hopes to turn the tide), look for abroad opportunities, and so on.
  7. I applied to the IBis program.
  8. I did not send an email to them, but they at least told me they finished reviewing my application. I am just curious if other people have the same type of email.
  9. I just got an email from Northwestern saying that you can check you status in your application if you do not hear from them before March. I'm not sure what to make of this.
  10. Yes, there is still hope for Biology@Princeton
  11. Good Luck to your interview Adenine_Monarch. Nowadays, I find myself up all night thinking about where I probably gone wrong with my applications. I'm happy that most people in here got interviews, but I am surprise I don't have any myself. I feel like I'm in the doom and gloom right now. I don't know how to explain this to people around me or even my program director. Well I got some hope since UCSD just emailed me 4:45 Pacific time to fill out possible eligible fellowships. Sounds like my only hope is winning some type of fellowship or winning the NSF-GRFP to convince the boards.
  12. I believe you are right, because when I applied to one of there summer programs they gave my rejection email towards the end of July. Awesome. Northwestern is one of my hopes Update: So I called UC Davis and it seems like for the Integrative Genetics & Genomics are meeting around early Feb. I was told if I wasn't given an invite then it isn't looking good, but there could be a small chance for a 2nd round.
  13. I haven't heard from Davis Integrative Genetics & Genomics program. I'll end up calling them in a few hours.
  14. aba1984 you might be better off emailing or calling WUSTL if you haven't heard from them yet. During the dreaded times one of my friends got an interview from the Development department.
  15. Amazing! Best news I heard in here all day. Congrats muscialscientist!!!
  16. Did anybody get interviews for UC Davis Integrative Genetics & Genomics Program? I tried calling Stanford's Genetic Department 2:00 PM California time, but nobody is picking up.
  17. I see. I'm glad not everybody has news yet so there is still hope. Thanks for sharing.
  18. I can't remember for some reason, I am either in the same program you applied too, or the genomics & genetics program if it is in there. When I submitted my application I remember they called me up by phone and said Molecular Biology is too narrow so they gave me a list to pick and out of heat of the moment I can't remember which choice I ended up with.
  19. I want to know if UCLA Access are still reviewing applications too. I'll probably cave in and call them directly if I don't get any news from any program today.
  20. Lets see if we are going to get some decent news or not especially from Stanford.
  21. Just an interview chance with Stanford would be a dream come true!
  22. When I think about it they probably sent a mass of rejections first before sending interviews so you probably golden for now.
  23. Jan 3. I got it with a wave of other people that it actually has a 14 post trend.
  24. Here is to hoping that Stanford will send there next wave of genetics people Monday. Kind of getting worried after seeing all the recent invites, but congrats to the people who have the interview.
  25. I'm waiting for that too. I hope they made the right decision and just give us an interview. I'm going to start applying for grad. schools with late deadline too this weekend. I really want to start my PhD program ASAP. Just graduate programs, but if I get desperate enough probably start looking for interesting science jobs since I can't comeback to my home university empty handed. Welcome to the exclusive club. I can't rest in peace until I know I have one interview though.
