  1. It's a new week guys! Hopefully this will be the week of good news!
  2. I sent out my thank you notes already, and I included chocolates. I think it was a good idea, hehe
  3. Essentially, I'm waiting to know where I'm going in order to figure out what to do with my stuff in 6 weeks. I'm from Maine but my undergrad is in Arkansas. And I graduate in 6 weeks! (EEEEEK!) so when I leave, I don't know what I'm doing with my stuff. If I don't get in anywhere, I'll probably sell most of it, and my family/I will fly home after graduation. If I get in to a school in Michigan, then I will send it home with my boyfriend and his family. If I get taken off the waitlist at Loyola or University of Pittsburgh, my mom and I will make the 1,600 mile drive home and put the stuff in storage. I just need to know, because us flying means we need to buy six plane tickets that are already at least $200 each, or reserve the rental car for extra. I know it's a stupid thing to obsess over but that's what's on my mind----graduation!
  4. Tell me about it! I mean, I don't really care, their program was just one to apply to in order to potentially have somewhere else to go. But still, they killed how many trees doing another one? Just saying.
  5. Marshall sent me a SECOND rejection letter today. I mean...come on! I already know I'm not going to your school!
  6. I want to check my email, constantly. To avoid this, I've started attempting the unicef tap challenge on my phone-if you go 10 minutes without touching your phone, you (supposedly) donate a day of safe water. So by not obsessing over my email, I'm helping people. But this only works as far as my phone, haha, not my computer.
  7. One more day...no more emails. This is getting old.
  8. I had a dream GVSU rejected me...which put me in a weird mood. It was sad. But that's not how I feel after my interview last week.
  9. I'm still waiting on answers and this is driving me CRAZY!
  10. What helped me the most on the GRE, honestly, was the TEST TAKING STRATEGIES. Yes, I did study the materials too, but I know that with vocab, I had NO idea on half of the words. But by the test taking strategies (either in the ETS book or Princeton, I can't remember which) had a section on how specifically to eliminate answers and stuff. And by using that strategy the second time (I didn't the first time) my verbal score went up 7 whole points! Good luck!
  11. The only one I know for sure is Grand Valley, they said they'll let us know by the end of the week-as we just interviewed this past week. And according to the results page, Eastern Michigan won't let us know until the beginning of April. Ugh.
  12. @rainsonata - there's only ONE in state program where I'm from (Maine) so that's just the case. I also left Maine for my undergrad (which is in Arkansas) so that's how they're not really caring where I am, they just want me to be happy.
  13. I'm still waiting to hear from 4 schools. And it's driving me INSANE. I kinda hate that some will send letters in the mail, mainly because all the schools I applied to are 1,000+ miles away. And they can get lost. Email is so much more efficient.
  14. Congrats I'm still waiting on 4 schools. Ugh.
  15. @ballerina 18, not sure when I'll hear from MSU or WMU, but EMU has (in the past) waited until April 2-4 generally. GVSU, I interviewed last week and they said I'd hear (hopefully) by Friday. But this waiting game is awful! I just want to know already! @rainsonata , my parents have always been tough on me but I think that they just feel like I'm going to be extra upset (and apparently that I'll lose confidence) if I don't get in somewhere. I think that they would have been harder on me with things like college but they know that I've done my best in my undergrad- I've made Dean's list all but 2 semesters- and they probably feel like they're worried I'll think my best "wasn't good enough" when really, if I don't get in, it's probably because I applied to only out-of-state schools (that only pick generally in-state applicants) and then I'll just try again...if any of that makes sense. And I apologize for the crazy long sentence I just produced.
  16. That's awful, I'm sorry Another day, still no news...*sigh*
  17. Thanks, honestly at this point I really want to get in because it's making my parents feel sad that I'm not. I know that's not the best reason but my dad feels so bad for me and I don't want them to feel bad for me. If I didn't make it, there's plan B. It's not the biggest deal but my parents don't realize that.
  18. That's a lot of money!!!!
  19. I know! I don't want to start plan B and then have it be for nothing. I mean I'm on a few waitlists so that may be the case, but still! It's like...just let me know! I mean, I know they have a lot of work to do but if you're going to start to tell some, you should just tell all.
  20. I just want some good news today...or even bad news at this point, I'm just tired of waiting on schools. Specifically ones that have sent out stuff to others...if you're going to reject me, waiting won't make it hurt any less...am I right?
  21. I hate that this is kind of hitting my parents hard too, that I haven't been accepted anywhere. My parents (normally) aren't very involved, as they know I succeed in whatever I put my heart to, but having heard from 50% of my schools and not being in anywhere is kind of freaking them out too. It's kinda weird for me. I just want some good news this week!
  22. Though it shouldn't make a huge difference, as the culture of Conway will be slightly different (because a state school is located in the city) because it's in Arkansas, which is part of the Bible belt. I'm at school 45 minutes from Conway and the church holds a huge presence in the community. But the people are super nice
  23. Arkansas is pretty nice, UCA is about 45 minutes from where I'm doing my undergrad. It's got a Panera bread really close, but that's all I remember really..shopping plaza in town, and a Dunkin Donuts! (one of three in the state). (Only been to Conway once) but there's lots of nice hiking and stuff to do around here, too, it's less than an hour from Petit Jean State Park (has a waterfall). I mean, I know you pick the school for the school, but those are just random things about the area
  24. It looks like last year, EMU didn't send decisions until April!
  25. Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't heard from EMU. Maybe they're just late this year? At least the "no news is good/bad news" isn't really relevant yet because NOBODY has heard from them...they can't reject EVERYONE, right? I just want to know! Location-wise, EMU has moved to top choice!
