  1. @arthritiskid I'm freaking out about WMU too. It's my top choice but I had a typo in my personal statement.
  2. Rejected from Wayne State..sad day. 5 more to hear from! (Plus GVSU-after my interview)
  3. Well, I ended up waitlisted for Pittsburgh. I mean, I love their program but ultimately I want to be in Michigan, so it's okay. It's stressful but I've still got my GVSU interview. And a waitlist isn't a "no"
  4. Eeek! That would be terrible! I just think what's the most stressful for me is that I'm a planner. And not knowing where I'm going to be living in 6 months is really tough to deal with.
  5. Well, today is our last "free" day, starting tomorrow we begin our mission work we're doing. Today was a day to relax and whatnot. My thing is that I was told by University of Pittsburgh I'd hear by March 14th. And I've also seen people post results from Wayne State...so I'm obsessing until I hear anything. It's driving me crazy. April 15th is so close, yet so far away!
  6. I'm actually on a mission trip to Arizona right now so I'm trying to (and most of the time-succeeding) distract myself and not think about it but it's hard!
  7. Does anyone else check their mail like 50 times a day? And for snail-mail ones, I'm worried they'll go to my house-in Maine, while I'm at school-in Arkansas. Then I'd have to wait for my family to mail them to me (because let's be real-I don't want them to open the letter and know before I do whether I'm in/not in at a school). Anyone else have this issue? I'm mainly concerned because all my schools that have sent any type of mail (notifying me of receipt of documents/completion of applications, etc.) have gone to my house, even though on my applications I posted my mailing address is in Arkansas. *sigh* I was told by Pittsburgh I'd know by the 14th. That's Friday. I'm going crazy guys!
  8. You'll still get your license if they're not accredited, as long as they're in candidacy. My current (undergrad) university just became accredited after holding candidacy for 5 years, which I think (and may be wrong) is how long their master's program has to be around and operating as candidates before they're officially accredited. But now we are
  9. About Wayne State-thanks And about GVSU: No idea. I haven't been contacted back by Dr. Macauley, who I was told would set it up. But it is their spring break, so I'm not too worried.
  10. I feel like the GRE, while it is a "standard" to measure us against one another, is useless. I do not need to know how to do pre-calculus in order to be an excellent clinician later down the road.
  11. They are going to let me do a Skype interview, and no, I haven't thought of looking at that for Wayne State. I'll do that now!
  12. I got an interview email, but I don't know if I can make it-it's 1,000 miles away! (Grand Valley State University) Also, I saw people posting acceptances from one of my schools, but I haven't heard anything yet. Is that good news or bad news? (It's Wayne State, by the way)
  13. I got an email from GVSU asking for an interview-but it's in person. 1,000 miles away...
  14. I wish I'd have known (sooner) about the prerequisites ASHA is now requiring for your C's. I'm lacking in statistics and a physical science.
  15. I took a geology class before this "physical science" became a thing. My advisor recommends that I take either physics or chemistry. There is a class at my university that is called "physical science" and in the COURSE DESCRIPTION says an introduction to chemistry and physics. Classmates of mine who took that class have sent the course description and a copy of their syllabus to see if the schools would accept it, most have.
  16. I do have that backup plan, but honestly I'd rather get school all done with first. Then maybe go there later and help with the kids at that school who need it. Ecuador stole my heart, but I should probably get a degree first. They don't have an SLP at their school, so that's an open door!
  17. I'm hoping that my application is considered "competitive" but I'm not applying in the big-name cities. My most competitive is approximately a 1/12, but hey. I guess that's just life.
  18. Where are you applying?
  19. I'm most definitely stressing. I'm very thankful that the process of applying is over, though. That was enough stress in itself-and too much hold music. My biggest stress right now is I'm lacking a statistics course and a physical science course that's accepted by ASHA (for your C's) and I know some of the schools (not all) want that before they admit you so they don't worry about you doing it while you're in their graduate program too. So that's stressing me out. But I've decided, if I don't get in, I'll just go to be a missionary in Ecuador for a year and help teach English at the school that I visited on a mission trip last year.
