  1. That was an odd quote to pick out to get my attention. Honestly, you're lucky that I navigated back -- definitely lucky that I navigated back at this particular moment, too. I got bad news from my waitlist last night, so I'll be going to South Carolina.
  2. I visited the school that I was waitlist at, as it is my top choice. I have been waiting on pins and needles in the weeks since then hoping and praying that I get in, because it was much more than my wildest dreams could have hoped. Definitely go, as you need that information when weighing it with your other choices if you do get in. That being said, if you (and I) don't get in, it might make the crash of feelings that much worse if you loved the program even more after visit day.
  3. It seems everyone, including myself, who got into Florida is on a waitlist for funding (of those who have posted results).
  4. As a gay man myself, I agree completely right down to the "as long as it is relevant to your research agenda" point. Yeah... because the default is always white in our society...
  5. I didn't know this, but note that this resolution specifies the entire opposite of what I asked: "Students are under no obligation to respond to offers of financial support prior to April 15; earlier deadlines for acceptance of such offers violate the intent of this resolution". Also note the qualifier at the bottom of the page: "*this resolution applies to offers of financial support only, not offers of admission."
  6. Speaking of declined offers, does anyone have information on when schools (cough cough) want their acceptances to make a decision by? That itself provides a good deal of information for those on waitlists.
  7. I've been planning a nice pair of dark jeans, a nice tailored extra slim fit dress shirt, and a red blazer.
  8. They very much are. I both have class (two classes, actually, back to back from 1:30 until 8:45, with a huge commute in afternoon traffic in between because my university has two campuses) and research assistance work this morning before class. It's going to be a very long day.
  9. I like all of the above, but not on Valentine's day and especially not on this Valentine's day for both the obvious reason (the nerves from all of this) and for some other stuff, too.
  10. I get those every couple of days, but I get them to my personal email address (which I used to register for the GRE with) so I know that they aren't going to be acceptance emails. I applied to all my programs using a stand alone email address specifically for that purpose.
  11. This is my first post... I've only heard back from Arizona State (acceptance) and UW Madison (rejected). The results page has a bunch of decisions from U of South Carolina, and I haven't heard back anything from them officially. I heard from someone there that they hadn't even sent out results yet, so I'm wondering if the results page is legit. Otherwise, I'm assuming either waitlist or reject from them. It also seems that the consensus was that Washington was interviewing all their potential admits, yes? There's lots of discussion about potential release dates from all my other applications (decline to state) save for U Florida. Any idea when that one might be?
