  1. I'm not particularly disappointed at this point. It's more a relief to just hear one way or another and end uncertainty.
  2. Woo! Got my Purdue rejection.
  3. Not shocked by the rejection. They generally take from their MA program.
  4. I'm completing my MA right now at UNH. Still dumbfounded I got into Duke and UConn but nowhere else. I know how I feel about both programs but just want all the responses so I can make an informed choice.
  5. Just got my BU rejection. 3 more to go!
  6. That's what I was thinking. Then again, just give me my rejection so I can make an informed decision!
  7. Congrats to the UNH acceptance. Any questions feel free to PM me!
  8. I'm looking at next week. But of course there's potentially snow next W/R, so perhaps earlier than that. Let me know what you find out about rental properties.
  9. When are you visiting said school we both got into shortstack?
  10. Have tomorrow through Saturday at noon at Duke. Can I just inject caffeine into my veins? Do they sell caffeine patches at the airport?
  11. Historically, Rutgers never notifies you through email. It's all a random check crap shoot.
  12. I'm proud to be the first Rutgers rejection of the season. Ugh.
  13. So, just looked at my status for Rutgers. Rejected. No email. Always classy, Rutgers!
  14. There's always this alternative. http://levelnaturals.com/shop/shower-bomb-4-pack/
  15. Pretty much anything by LUSH will make your life better. I highly recommend their soaps or shower gels. I miss their emotibombs (for use in the shower).
  16. Nyctophile, is your Rutgers strike through an implied rejection, or did you actually hear back?
  17. Do not underestimate academia.
  18. ...so, Rutgers, it'd be great for you to get back to me so I can pretend to be productive for 2 or so weeks!
  19. What I've heard back from both of my acceptances in regards to LoR - they were incredibly strong, but my WS was the determining factor. The phrase "you come highly recommended" was nice to hear, but that was just one component of the decision. So, personalized is good, but everything has to be good.
  20. If I recall correctly, not every program accepts LoR from Interfolio, so that's one potential drawback. I'd like to think that if one of your writers had a stronger connection to a specific program on your list they'd write a more tailored letter in that instance in lieu of the Interfolio one. It's not an absurdly expensive service, (I think a year is $19.99, but I may be mistaken), so it's likely a viable option. But again, I remember looking at different institutions and reading they don't accept from Interfolio, so make sure you contact programs and ask about their policy.
  21. It's a general trend across the board. Most of it is top-down decisions, cutting program funding, resulting in fewer admits.
  22. Thanks for posting that information metalinveins
  23. And cost of living in Boston is not the same as living in or near Storrs.
  24. You should ask about funding. It may not be what you think it is.
  25. Agreed. I'm probably going next week or the one following (Duke is this Thursday-Saturday). But UCONN is really throwing students and faculty at me. It's nice to feel wanted.
