    • More decluttering and organizing as I prepare for this upcoming year.
  1. Napping, Knitting and Netflix sounds awesome. I have so many things to do but I get overwhelmed and end up taking a nap.
  2. Three weeks and year 2 begins!! Just enough time for me to panic and second guess myself.

  3. Yes, when you think about the time it can feel overwhelming but slow and steady wins the race. Five publications congratulations!! Sounds like this next year will be busy for you as well. Best of luck to you. Congrats on the new apartment. Good luck presenting at your conference this year. Please keep us posted on how things go. Good luck with your goal to balance all the aspects of grad life. If you come up with a solution please share. I feel that the time my head is not buried in a book, or writing a paper I'm cooking/cleaning for my family. Not much fun but considering the circumstances I won't complain. I hope you get into a conference. I can so relate to wanting to watch Netflix or read a book for pleasure. I'm making the most of the two weeks I have left.
  4. This sounds awesome! Way to go and good luck with your thesis.
  5. Awesome, I have one more week after today with my summer practicum and then 3 weeks before fall as well. Good luck for with your SoP for your PhD program. I've started thinking about it. I'm not sure I want to make the time commitment yet.
  6. Well we made it through first year. After this year I still have two years left since I'm attending part time. Some of you are getting ready for your thesis etc. Let's keep each other encouraged this year with our progress. This board has been very helpful to me throughout my preparation studying for the GRE, application, first year and now beginning the second year. Currently, I'm going through my home purging and getting the office ready for the upcoming semester. I have ordered a few books and I need to get a jump start on my reading. How are you all doing? Wishing each of you the best as you continue your journey.
  7. Thanks for the responses. I will not have any other responsibilities. My children will be in school and I plan to use that time to study and more study time on the weekend. I am going to ponder over it a few more days...
  8. Hello, In the fall I will be beginning my second year of my MS Clinical Mental Health program. To date I have completed 18 hours, which leaves 45 hours in my 60 hour program. Full time in my program is considered 9 hours a semester which to date I usually take only 6 hours a semester. My reasons for only taking 6 hours a semester was I am a homeschool mother of three. However in the fall all the boys will be attending traditional school and I need to know if I should add on an extra class or keep my same pace. Most people I have spoken with that say they have taken 9 hours (a full load) said it nearly killed them. It was a lot. But all of them also work full time jobs. I'm wondering if I will be able to handle it since my boys will be away from home and I can use that time that they are away to study, cook, clean etc. Any ideas.....
  9. submitted my final paper for the summer. let's party!!!! freedom I can start binge watching netflix

  10. Slowly getting my home office ready for second year of grad school.

Good on you for having the discipline to work while at home!

  11. I was just thinking about this topic as a mom of three. I really want to speed up the process yet I'm not sure if I can handle nine hours a semester. My program is 60 hours long. I have 45 hours left. I would like to speed things up. I would like to work in my field some and then go for my Ph.D. If I don't finish my masters early at this pace when I'm done I will be 40. For some reason I have a hang up about starting my Ph.D at 50. sigh. Great advice given here I will speak with my adviser.
  12. Passed my level one comp exam, aced my term and my paper. Sweet!
