    The book Couseling the Culturally Diverse Theory and Practice is so good. I'm reading it for my class Counseling Culturally Diverse. Man this stuff is fascinating!

    Awesome I have pre-practicum this summer then practicum in the fall where I will work with live bodies. Excited and nervous at the same time. I need to pick a theory from which I'm working from. I've narrowed it down but still haven't decided. Good luck.

    Filed my degree plan today. Got a chance to get some time in with my adviser. Starting this summer things are going to turn up a notch.

    Second week of classes and I'm disappointed. Can't explain it though. I feel like I want to cry and two of my boys are sick. Looks like tomorrow will be spent at the Doctor's office.

    Leaving my noisy home for the local noisy Starbucks. At least there I can put my headphones on and read without being continuously interrupted.

      Yeah, I notice that coffee houses have become loud hang out places for people to yap about whatever..even when people go there to do the 'study group' thing. But, a good pair of headphones+ soothing music does the trick..along with the nice cup of coffee as well :2.

      That has become my routine. I need to buy stock in Starbucks as I am always there. The only thing I don't like is smelling like coffee beans when I leave.

    Whose burning the midnight oil with me tonight. I have to read a ton of chapters like everyone else. Only my middle son is having a birthday party /sleepover tomorrow which means mama wont get much done then. So I'm making the most of it tonight.

      I'm there with you. Three job talks and a teaching demo to prepare in the next 10 days, plus regular teaching. I can't it's almost week 4 of the semester!

    Yes, I've noticed that. This particular class has a discussion prompt that is posted regularly and you have to respond to the prompt as well as to your classmates. The class is assessments, so I'm not sure how interesting the subject matter will be but we shall see.

    Way to go on your gpa. I think I have one big paper this semester and several small papers. I think the biggest adjustment for me this semester will be my online class. I have never taken an online class. There are about five classes for my degree plan that can be taken online. This semester I chose to take one and I am attending the university for my other class. I feel out of my element with the online class. It feels very loosely defined, is the best way to describe it. I have to get in the groove before I give my final opinion about online classes.

    This semester I have one online class and one class on campus. I'm not sure that online works with the way my brain functions. I keep logging into the class and reading my books but the lecture notes and the assigned reading aren't matching up

      That may be it! It's always easy to get lost when you're incredibly nervous. Hopefully the other students are able to assuage your nerves a bit :)

      I LOVE online courses...I wish I could take my entire degree online. I learn so much more that way.

    First day back is Tuesday the 20th. My anxiety is not as bad this semester as it was in the fall but I am nervous. I'm working on being more confident.

      That means you're obliged to slow down and rest for a bit. Take advantage of it, the workload will come soon and if you are well rested and prepare for it your body will thank you for it.

    Go with your gut. Do you think the adjuncts have a good grasp of the material. Its really hard to say. I am currently enrolled in a class where the professor got pretty bad reviews. Initially, I wanted to wait and see if it was offered by another professor but later on however, this semester was the best semester to get it out of the way. So I'm taking the class and hoping for the best. I'm excited about the class and I'm hoping that when the end of semester evaluations went out last year the professor got some pointers on areas that need improvement. Best of luck which ever route you choose.

    Started reading and taking notes on my chapters. I even got up early to get some studying in while my house was quiet. It's official I'm back in study mode spring semester has begun.

      I didn't get to read yesterday. Too busy at work, and I was so exhausted I went to bed at 9:30. I am hoping I get some in today!
