  1. I don't think I'm getting in, but when is the open house? (Don't worry, I'm not asking so I can crash it )
  2. I never got a chance to show how well I did my homework because they canceled my interview, since I wasn't in the pool of finalists they can offer funding to :-X I guess I could wait to see if I'm admitted without funding. I'd pay in-state tuition, which is at more or less manageable for me...
  3. Ooof, waitlisted for admission without funding. fml
  4. Finally got my rejection link to pop up. Sigh, maybe next time.
  5. Hey, did anyone do their interview yet? Come on, details!
  6. It's very nice of you to do so I hope everyone goes somewhere they want to be
  7. They wrote to say their decision making is definitely later than other schools, and asked to tell them if I am still interested in their program, or took another offer.
  8. I'm back from a land where Gradcafe isn't accessible (Japan), and still have absolutely no word from Northwestern I haven't seen any rejections on the results page so I'm gonna assume I'll be getting that when the "no"s are out. >_<
  9. snail mail decisions really ought to be outlawed

  10. Here's what I dug up from the admission status page. Once an admission decision has been rendered on your application, a "View Decision" link will appear below. If no "View Decision" link is listed on this page, an admission decision has not yet been rendered on your application. (Students denied admission will not receive a letter from the university. Students who are admitted will receive an admissions packet.) If any of you are waiting for them to email...well now we know they don't email your decision.
  11. This is grim news indeed I heard nothing, and fear for the worst X_x
  12. I DO want to join you in being neurotic! You're such a sweetheart
  13. I'm surprised that several posters are unable to handle someone else's success so far in the admission process, and here I thought we're all grown ups who are ready to plunge a good chunk of our lives into academia. Especially after seeing all the congratulatory posts in the Answers and Celebrations thread, the sour grapes came as a huge surprise. But I do agree with some that this post is kind of early if you want to discuss this with this year's applicants, because yes, a lot of us (like me) have yet to receive an acceptance yet. But I'm sure someone here could give you advise about your decision, so don't apologize for not taking extra care of feelings of people you've never met.
  14. Same here. Plus, I now know that a previous year's admit of students with my near-identical interests, in today's economic landscape, means my chances were very much diminished. And thank you repatriate, for the copy/paste People like you makes living in China a little more bearable on the internet front
  15. Hey, I'm in China and blogspot is blocked...could you please post the letter here so I can read it? Thanks
