      Teach me what you have learned AKC... I am still trying to figure out the secret.

      Something I figured out while reading Kenneth Burke over the past two weeks - skim the whole piece, then read the conclusion carefully, then go back and read the introduction carefully, especially paying attention to words that identify the research question/the way the paper is organized, THEN when you skim, you'll have a better sense of when you need to slow down and pay attention to a section.

      NavyMom...I have noticed that a lot of paragraphs are devoted to "elaboration" and "examples", so I tend to skim over that to get to the core of what the chapter is trying to teach me, because we discuss it in class and apply it to our field.
