  1. Just checked my application status online on csulb and it said denied as of today Goodluck to everyone else though. (I checked by going to csulb/applicationstatus.) It looks like i'm going to Chapman in the fall! If anyone else will be as well message me!
  2. Thanks for sharing, I was wondering about this too. Does anyone know how much a California SLPA typically makes?
  3. oh I didn't realize that! That is definitely helpful if it is the case! the fall 2015 semester classes are swallowing, speech motor disorders, SLPA class, and assessment of molingual and bilingual clients. They added the SLPA class, autism class, and behavior management class to the program. Congratulations on being able to complete those classes in your grad program that is definitely exciting!
  4. I consider myself to be more introverted too. I am wondering how much public speaking, if any, is required of this field. I absolutely hate public speaking!
  5. I agree! I think it'll definitely help to give us the competitive edge we need with the extra time. Now I just hope they can give us an answer soon! Good luck to you guys!
  6. Why would you have to retake courses? I'm not happy about delaying the MA program either. Although I can see how that will help our chances of getting into a MA program if we have all the classes completed when we apply. I don't understand why we need to take those extra two classes when other programs don't require them though. It is also going to cost more now. And it is definitely confusing that they are doing all this so last minute! They are my first choice but I feel like they need to explain a lot now!
  7. How do you guys feel about the changes CSULB made to their program?
  8. I just saw that too! seriously wouldn't they have thought of this before everyone applied?? I kind of don't mind the changes though because I planned on taking a year off to work as an SLPA but does this mean we won't be getting a decision until well after may 15th? I have a deposit due at another school on this coming monday!
  9. Thanks for the info! Has anyone talked to CSULB recently about when we will be hearing? I feel like I've called too many times
  10. From my understanding they do. Csulb looks at experience too I believe but not as much as chapman.
  11. I think the state schools are more concerned about the last 60 units of GPA then Chapman, what is your GPA for that?
  12. what did your geology class count towards? i took geology but didnt think it counted towards anything? thanks for your input!
  13. Wow that was so helpful! I private messages you
  14. Thank you! You have been so helpful! Where did you end up deciding to go to grad? How hard is it to maintain a good GPA in the post-bacc program? I'm telling myself I HAVE to get a 4.0 in the program but I know these classes are going to be much harder then what I'm used to and four classes at a time is a lot.
  15. Thank you so much! That was really helpful! Do you mind telling me what your stats were going into the post-bacc program? I'm trying to decide if I have a chance or should just give up because I have to give chapman a deposit soon and csulb is saying they are behind schedule and will be a few more weeks.
  16. Does anyone know if there's a certain grade you have to have in these courses? I got a C in my biology class way back when.
  17. Hi guys, I just found out yesterday I got into chapman and csuf earlier. Still waiting to hear from csulb but I called them yesterday and they said they still haven't made any decisions and it will be a couple more weeks. Does anyone know whether csuf is impacted and hard to get classes? They are impossible to get anyone on the phone. Also I don't know if Fullerton is evening or night time classes? Since they seem so unorganized I am leaning toward chapman because I love how chapman seems to really help you through the process. However, they are expensive. Anyone have any advice for me or get into these programs? Stats 3.2 undergrad psychology GPA 3.7 last 60 units 2 years experience working as a behavioral therapist
  18. Hello, I was just accepted to CSUF and chapman's post-bac speech pathology programs. Does anyone know anything about either of these programs and have any advice for me? I like that Chapman seems to be small and help their students through the process but it is expensive. I'm concerned that Fullerton is impacted and I won't be able to get classes, and it is hard to get a hold of anyone to ask questions like; are the classes in the evening or during the day? Thanks for your help!
