My friend who applied to social/personality was invited to the open house on Feb 13, I don't know about developmental science though...

I applied to the experimental stream, but I still haven't heard anything either

A friend of mine was invited to the Brock grad day and I was not, so I assumed that I was rejected and my friend is the top-pick for my POI at Ryerson, so I know that I was not picked as his student. I wrote presumed because I am fairly certain that I will not get into those programs, but I have not heard anything official yet.

My list of favourites: "Forensic psychology? That is like CSI, right?" "You want to study sexual offences and offenders.... but WHY??" From my mom: "You know that guys find very smart girls intimidating, right?" From a classmate who missed the deadline to apply for an honours thesis: "Thats okay, I don't need a thesis because I just want to go to grad school anyways" ...why does she think I am doing this to myself? I must enjoy extra work

I'm still waiting to hear back from almost all my schools! A couple had deadlines that just passed, but the waiting is already killing me!

haha exactly! I get a lot of "oh.....why would you want to study that?" and I've accidentally scared coworkers with some of my books before. I definitely like the more academic side of things, though I do have some experiences on the applied side. I also applied to a Criminology program! I have a minor in Crim and talked to my POI already and she is down with my current interests, but my preference would be to stay in psych

I had a pretty good discussion with mine too, so I hope they are just taking their time haha yeah, its nice to know that I'm not the only one anxiously waiting

My area is in Social/Forensic psychology and focuses on sexual offences and offenders. My honours thesis currently focuses on sexual coercion and peer influences on sexually deviant behaviour. I am also interested in offences with multiple perpetrators.

I keep dreaming that my friend and I get accepted to a school in the US where we didn't apply and I end up being really anxious that they are going to realize their mistake and kick me out

My biggest flaw would definitely be my GRE scores. My Verbal and Analytic scores were quite high, but my Quant scores were on the low side I also don't have any publications or conference presentations despite being involved in research for the past 4 years. Hopefully these flaws can be overlooked though...

I'm planning on applying for Fall 2015 too! I am mostly looking at MA programs in social psych, but I have a few joint programs and a few PhD
