  1. Just got accepted off the waitlist. Good luck to all of you!
  2. I just got accepted off the waitlist at ND I thought it was unlikely, but I guess not. Good luck to all!
  3. My husband already goes to ND, so my decision will be very easy if I get in. Something came up in the past couple of months, kind of a plan B for me, so if I don't get accepted, I'll be just as happy. I'll probably just apply to ND next year again and make my application stronger. One thing I learned from my husband's admission cycle was that if you're waitlisted, your acceptance may come at noon on April 15 and they want an answer by 3:00 pm. That's what happened with us with ND last year, so definitely having a decision in your mind helps!!
  4. I don't think there is another topic like this one and, if there is, I apologize. I haven't been around here for a while. I'm waitlisted at Notre Dame and I'm not declining any other school, because I have not been accepted anywhere else! Good luck and congratulations to everybody!
  5. is wait listed!!!! they don't hate me!!!

  6. Just received my Duke rejection. Actually this rejection didn't hurt and none of my future rejections will either, because something has come up and I can't really go to grad school next year, so I guess things happen for a reason
  7. I don't find it misleading (in terms of links). I noticed the first link before the other one and I would have clicked on the first one anyway. Although I'm sure being nervous and all, if you read through the letter it looks like you may have gotten in (notify us of your decision, blah blah). They should have phrased the letter better. I also was not impressed with the Duke system.
  8. I think I saw at least one person claiming one of the posted UPenn acceptances on the Answers and Celebrations thread.
  9. Oh, no worries Thanks anyway. I just left the above message from my BB. I only look at the Results page when I don't have a computer in front of me. Congratulations, by the way!
  10. Do you guys mind updating the Results page with your interviews?
  11. Has anybody heard anything? I only saw a rejection letter sent via postal mail. Based on the results search, it seems that they are quite late in giving out decisions.
  12. Romaniac--No worries. It's just that some of us are eagerly waiting to hear from our schools or try to cope with our rejections. Your decisions will become useful to us if some of us get waitlisted at your schools! Congrats on your acceptances!
  13. It seems like last year they didn't interview anyone: they just only sent acceptances or rejections, so I'm confused.
  14. Same here. I scored a 670 in quantitative, but I sure as hell can do advanced thermodynamics and differential equations.
  15. Nope I think they have been delayed due to the laughable character of my application. They have been laughing for days.
  16. Yeah, I looked up some of the grad courses that the programs I applied to offer for first year students and they looked pretty basic, which gave me hope that maybe they have people with mixed backgrounds like me. They even have grad courses on how to write sociology research papers. That is not he case in theology or philosophy, for instance, which are the two programs I'm familiar with.
  17. Why wouldn't it be UPenn? Are they supposed to notify much later? I think it's the second acceptance so far.
  18. You just read my mind. I'm in the EXACT same situation. Two weeks ago, my husband and I were very confident, because I have excellent GPAs, decent GREs, excellent LORs (although no one from the field I'm applying to, so I don't know if you can call them excellent then), but then reading everybody's acceptances and the group of us that have not heard anything getting smaller here, I'm actually pretty depressed. Although VERY happy for those people who are well-deserving and have been accepted their second time around applying. In reality, only one of my schools has sent out acceptances and they have even said they're not done yet, so I shouldn't give up hope; however, I am. I see no reason why these adcoms would want me! I also have a full-time job that pays well and I can just continue working if I get shut out. That is a privilege that many people don't have, so I do appreciate it. However, it still stinks that I may have to give up my dream to start my academic career and do something I really love. Anyway, feeling pretty down. This weekend has been awful. Let's hope for some good news for all of us.
  19. Congratulations!!! All of you guys have a few beers for those of us who haven't heard yet!
  20. I didn't read anything like that for all three schools I applied to. But I'm sure that will be a reason for me to get rejected. I've only taken one sociology undergrad class.
  21. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you!! Now you know you won't do this for a third time Enjoy!
  22. Congratulations to the UCLA admits!! What a great way to celebrate on a Friday
  23. My husband was offered fully-paid health insurance in most schools he got accepted last year (big name private/public schools). The ones that were not fully-paid covered anywhere from 50-75% of health insurance. Pretty nice deal. It doesn't apply to spouses, I don't think. I'm still on my employer's. The school we're at now pays for 75% of his insurance and they don't charge for ANYTHING that he takes care of at their medical clinic, which is very nice. As a family, that was a big element in our decision when it came to picking schools.
  24. No reason to get worked up! You got accepted somewhere! I haven't heard ANYTHING! Enjoy your acceptance
