One year a long time ago, there were penguins who didn't wear hats when swimming. This made their mothers livid. "Unacceptable!" Frightened, they screamed, "Bears!" Nobody seemed convinced so instead of going swimming they tried juggling. Their mothers tried everything they thought would teach her a skill. However, she couldn't even make oatmeal without disastrous results. So, the penguins gathered money (obviously) trying to purchase a bear. Towering over them, a grizzly beast danced, devouring all bears with such ferocity that even God enjoyed it. Afterwards, God congratulated the penguins and applauded them. "You did it!" Suddenly, the grizzly beast started dancing vigorously. There was an acromantula nearby. It challenged the preconception that magical mushrooms were magical. Sparkling, the magical mushrooms were spreading throughout town. Nobody with pyromania thought grilled cheese would spontaneously erupt into nine identical squirrels! Nevertheless, the penguins elucidated the benefits of sparkling water from Iceland. Suddenly, Iceland exclaimed, "Enough!!! No more penguins. Kill all of the arcades on Monday because King Arthur suffered from sphenisciphobia." Tragically, everyone forgot lasers cure bug madness, meaning none of them stripped the violet beast of his powerful jaw bones. So while some arms spouted Kool-aid, others chopped nuts. This phenomenon halted commerce. Together twenty-five yellow dragons danced sporadically inebriating all anger gods, while academics drank champagne profusely. Who were they? Snotty

  4. Did anyone hear back from Northeastern? That's the only ChemE - PhD program I applied to (I applied to 10 other schools for BME - PhD)
  5. I don't think so. I work at UMich and I was told that they divide the applications by subdisciplines and then each subdiscipline is responsible for their own interview calls. So maybe the committee responsible for your subdiscipline hasn't sent out the invites yet....
  6. I'm waiting on BU as well I hope the process IS staggered *fingers crossed*
  7. Guess I'm joining the party late but here goes... Strong but relatively unknown PI; 1 from Master's project advisor, Strong and relatively well known PI; 1 from the PI at a top state school where I'm doing a full time RA Research Experience: 2 summers and 3 semesters of research and 1 semester undergraduate thesis but most of it related to chemical engineering Masters Project in a bioengineering lab, 1 year - mostly mechanobiology research, lots of cell culture Full time RA current, 6 months till date - signal processing and image analysis with some cell culture Publications/Abstracts/Presentations: NONE Awards/Honors/Recognitions: NONE Fellowships/Funding: NONE Pertinent Activities or Jobs: 2 summer REUs and 1 internship at Major Government Research centers in India Full Time RA at a top state school Other Miscellaneous Accomplishments: Research Interests: Drug Delivery and Cancer research Institutions/Programs: All BME except NEU Georgia Tech/Emory, UCLA, UNC-NCSU, University of Michigan, UC Berkeley - UCSF, UPenn, University of Virginia, Boston University, Cornell, Case Western Reserve University, Northeastern University (Chemical Engineering) Comments: Concerned that No Presentations and not stellar GPA will overshadow my research experience. Also that I applied to too many out of reach schools. Thoughts?
