  1. Bettyg - I agree. I also don't think we will hear back today. I'm thinking it will be closer to the beginning of April unfortunately. It's such a mystery, I wish I would know how they are doing it.
  2. So what does everyone think? Are we, or are we not receiving some news today?
  3. Receiving good news tomorrow would be amazing. I really think it would give me that extra push/motivation to concentrate do well this semester. Fingers crossed. I have a question, for those who got an acceptance to the MSW 2 year program, did you submit your application on the deadline date or in advance? Maybe that's a factor?
  4. Gah!!! I can't take this anymore. Seriously, I'm ready to move on and think of all the great things I can do this year instead of sitting here not knowing anything.
  5. WHAT DID SHE SAY!! I haven't received mine!! ugh Edit: sorry caps - I got excited. please tell me.... lol
  6. You might be right - I'm holding on to anything at this point. Being waitlisted at Carleton definitely hurt my confidence... fingers crossed for some GOOD news!!
  7. goodnews - This is the email she sent me on March 12th which I took it as we would have news this week. Hello ___________, we are just now hearing back from the 1st round offer candidates. Until we hear from them we cannot determine the ranking of the Waitlisted candidates. Your response was received and you are on the waitlist. We can and do go to the waitlist throughout the summer because sometimes candidates change their minds late, about attending the program. So yes you will remain on the list all summer. We are hoping to be able to review the waitlisted candidates for possible conditions. I will be emailing the waitlisted candidates hopefully by the end of next week. Sue
  8. Social Work 93 - Thank you. I also emailed her so lets keep each other posted if we get any news. Fingers crossed we are above #5. I've determined if I am above 5 I at least have a small chance. What do you think?
  9. I'm so sorry to hear. This University is like that unfortunately Try and self care today. edit: I'm currently at Mcgill
  10. Hey everyone! Has anyone who's been waitlisted at Carleton received any information? Sue Brady had said we would hear by the end of this week and I'm wondering if anyone has
  11. That being said, if they sent out rejection letters we should be receiving them by Friday (I'm in Montreal)?
  12. To those who applied to Laurier (2 year stream) - I emailed them yesterday asking where they were in the process and how we would hear back (I was confused about this) and this was their response: Good morning, ____________ Due to the volume of applications we receive for the MSW 2 year fulltime program, our target for having all decisions finalized is early April. Successful applicants will receive a decision via email, the remaining decisions will be sent via mail. Regards, Lynn Beney Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work Wilfrid Laurier University MSW/PhD Graduate Programs Admissions Office 120 Duke Street, West Kitchener, ON N2H 3W8
  13. Lightning1129 - thank you so much for your support and advice. I decided to take the day off and now I'm a little bit more motivated to work this week. IAll I can say is thank you.
  14. Nothing for me either. I'm honestly not expecting anything until Friday-ish.
  15. For those who are graduating this semester - how are you all able to concentrate and give it that one last "push"? I have so many essays to write but I'm so down I can't seem to concentrate which will lead to numerous all nighters in the next month. Any motivational advice? I'm feeling blah ....
  16. @magfish -- I'm in the same position, I also have 6 papers due throughout March and beginning of April so slow weeks are good but ahhhhh! I want to know so I can just deal with the decisions and move on with my plan B if necessary. @Social Work 93 -- I am equally waiting impatiently. I honestly don't think there will be any updates but hey, you never know.
  17. I agree, and since it's now 4:30... they probably end around 5pm so I think it's over for now.
  18. @goodnews - after being waitlisted for Carleton, you and I deserve a little bit of good news right ?
  19. This is the answer I got from Sue regarding my question about being waitlisted and what being "flagged" meant. It's not super insightful but I thought I'd post it anyway. Hello ********, we are just now hearing back from the 1st round offer candidates. Until we hear from them we cannot determine the ranking of the Waitlisted candidates. 20. Thank you! I will definitely be calling her. I think I'm going to email regarding the "flags" on our application. I'm slightly confused though, if we were "flaged" (which is a scary term) why were we waitlisted and not rejected? I'll keep you all updated on what she says.
  21. I'm not sure what this whole controversy regarding the hours are. When I submitted by CV I gave all my hours up until August 30th 2015. UofT, Carleton, and Laurier had told me that I could put the expected hours until I would start the program in September 2015. For example, where I work it is contract work and I have a contract until August 30th therefore I included all those hours. As per my volunteering hours, I ended them as of April 30th since I am graduating. Personally for me, it is not necessary to send an updated version of my CV but if you think it would benefit you I would definitely do it. Anything to make your application look better. Well on this forum, we know 3/10 that are on the waitlist so lets hope we are all number 1,2,3
  22. Hey, for those who have been waitlisted at Carleton when you emailed Sue Brady stating that you were interested in remaining on the waitlist, did you receive a reply? I haven't received any news regarding this waitlist. I know someone above posted that Carleton keeps about 10-12 people on the waitlist, but can this be confirmed? Also, does anyone know if we will find out what number we are on the waitlist? I always felt like if I got waitlisted it would be nearly impossible to actually get a spot (UofT especially) but for Carleton it seems somewhat reasonable. Is there anyone who got accepted to Carleton for the 2 year program on here that isn't accepting their offer?
  23. If I were in the 1 year stream and it was a possibility I would switch with you in a heartbeat. Lets hope both our waitlists move in our favour !
