I believe rejections usually come via email. I am losing hope on MIT. Oh well, I have plenty of great choices, I won't be too upset when the rejections come in.
-
I am also interested in this thread.. Does anyone have info on the Old graduate college, or the new apartments that are to replace Butler?

I will be finishing my undergrad at OSU this semester - I have lived in Columbus for the past 3.5 years, and in Ohio for my entire life (minus summers out of state for the past 2 years). Feel free to PM me if you have questions. It's worth noting that I know nothing about the "party life" at OSU so if you want info on that or the LGBT status of Columbus I am not the person to ask since I simply don't know. I agree with iphi - a lot of those suburbs are very nice. Depending on how much you're willing to spend there are very nice areas to live in close to Columbus. I currently live in an apartment in Upper Arlington and the commute is definitely tolerable.

Yep, fingers crossed for MIT. Though I wouldn't be upset if they didn't admit me (I've gotten pretty lucky with the admits I have I think), it would be really nice.
-
Congrats! Did they and an email or did they call you?
-
congrats! I'm hoping for a phone call now haha
-
thanks argon tulips, when you say you heard from MIT, does that mean you were offered admission?

Early April I believe

Just got an email from Princeton!! I was worried about them because I only mentioned one prof in my personal statement, and he's the dept chair so he may not be taking students. Also for anyone wondering, Stanford's visit weekend is 3/5 to 3/7, and Princeton has two: Feb 20-21 and March 13-14
-
Speaking of hearing back, I just got an admission to Stanford. Very exciting!
-
Thanks everyone Lucky in the Sky (with diamonds): I don't think anyone has heard from Stanford yet. If someone has, they haven't posted here or submitted a result. I think that might be because they extended the deadline somewhat significantly.

Just got an email from Caltech! Very excited. Visiting weekend is February 27 - March 2.
-
Also, for anyone who is wondering, Minnesota's visiting weekends are: February 27 - March 1 and March 27 - March 29
-
Nope, I haven't heard from them. Have you?
-
I received a phone call from U Minnesota this morning (from the graduate program director) if anyone else applied there, good luck!
-
I saw someone submitted a decision from MIT. Did anyone else hear from them?
-
has anyone else heard from uc berkeley? I saw someone submitted a result, but I don't know anyone else who has heard back
-
Hmm I never got an email with the interview for Gates, but someone else at my uni who is applying to the same program got one on Friday.. looks like I won't be going to England next year, oh well
-
just submitted mine. I was hoping to hear back from my university's fellowship office for comments on my summary of goals, but alas, the NDSEG gets an uncommented draft.

I applied and received an offer of admission from Cambridge. Still haven't heard anything from the Gates.

Transcript Advice (Sent Unnecessary Transcript?)
doomination replied to Cambienta's topic in Applications
I sent emails to every school I'm applying to asking about this, since I also took a couple community college classes while in high school. All but two of them (the two most competitive) did not want to see the community college transcripts. -
all of my internships were research internships, so they went into "research experience" if they were not research oriented, then maybe they should go in group/leadership experience. I sent mine in the day after you, and my scores were delivered on Dec 3. I'd say you're probably fine. Just make sure to clarify that it is a submitted paper. I have one paper that is being written now, and I included it as "in preparation" - this is common practice afaik

Chemical engineering PhD programs and entrepreneurship
doomination replied to cheguy's topic in Engineering
I know you said you aren't sure about MIT but I know they have a PhD CEP program. They also have some LGO program that comes with a masters degree in engineering (field of your choice) and I believe an MBA. -
I just noticed a somewhat significant typo in my personal statement.. I left a comment from my university's fellowship office that says "try condensing this down to one sentence" in the body of my text... I wonder if the reviewers will notice and mark me down for it.

Which GRE scores should I use for EE?
doomination replied to icelandicsamurai's topic in Engineering
I'd probably use the second set of scores, just to maximize your Q score.
