Okay, well they emailed me back today and said I'm not in.
-
me too. it's really frustrating.

I hope not! I'm hoping this means we're on a wait list and they haven't told us! I always try to think positive! Haha!
-
Have any of y'all at least gotten an interview? I haven't. Someone on this forum told me she got accepted from the wait list today and was interviewed back in February!

It's pretty safe. It's gated. I lived around that area when I was in undergrad and I never had any issues. The Venue is a good place. Highland Village is a good place too. -
I have not tried to contact them, but I still haven't gotten a letter or anything yet, but on this site, someone told me she already got her acceptance letter. IDK what the dealio is. There's a chance the school might be on spring break this week.

I would bring anything for any type of weather. Louisiana weather is so unpredictable! The Woodlands is mostly undergraduate students and there's often a lot of parties there. Most graduate students live in Lake Beau Pre and Tiger Manor is also a good place for graduate students. And Tiger Manor also has it's own transportation to campus. -

I'm kind of under the impression LSUHSC is more medical based. The only letter I've gotten is LSU in Baton Rouge. -

Did you get an interview too? Or did they just accept you and that was it? When did you get the letter? -

I just a letter in the mail today. Sadly, it was a rejection letter, which I'm okay with because it wasn't my first choice. As far as out of state students, I know nothing about that! Wish I could help you there! -

I went to undergrad at LSU-BR, not in Communication Disorders though. I had a lot of friends that did COMD there though and they absolutely loved it! They have a lot of research labs, a language preschool on campus, and there's a lot of facilities off-campus that provide unique clinical opportunities, and LSU is just a cool place in general. That survey email bugged me, man! Such teases! -

I just got an email today from LSU-BR's COMD admissions asking me to take a survey about what attracted me to LSU. -
Has anyone heard from these schools?

I have no idea. I still haven't heard anything. It's just frustrating. Wanted to see if anyone else heard from them yet. -
Is there anyone here who applied to these programs? Have you heard anything yet?
-
Can anyone here tell me which program you went through to teach english abroad and whether it required TEFL certification?

Does anyone know of a university that offers Speech Science online? That's the last course I have to take before applying to grad school, but the school I'm currently taking leveling courses doesn't offer it until next fall, and the school I want to get in to is located at a medical center and doesn't offer a non-background track nor undergraduate leveling courses.

I'm reapplying again this year. Does anyone have any advice about rewriting my SOP? I've had an extra year of experience, so what should I focus on in my SOP this year? Last year I mainly focused on why I wanted to study SLP, why I would be great, what I was doing to prepare for this (such as volunteer work, my place of employment, etc.).

Could anyone tell me if LSUHSC's program has changed their requirements? Last year they told me they were going to focus on the major GPA. I applied last year with a 3.33 major GPA, 291 GRE, and 2 years of work experience, and 1 year of volunteer experience. I was waitlisted, and they told me to work on my GRE score for next year. I'm applying again this year and I noticed on their website it still says the requirements are 3.0 with a 296 GRE, but they added a little tidbit that your application will be more competitive with a 3.5 GPA and a 300 or higher GRE. This makes me a little nervous because my GPA after this semester will a 3.4, and I'm even more nervous because I had to repeat intro to audiology, but it's the only CSD course I've ever had to repeat. So, anyway, does anyone know anything about this? P.S. I've been studying my butt off for my GRE this year, and am taking it in December.
