Is it too early to accept an offer?
edardi1 replied to CCCaffeinated-SLP's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
If that's the school you really want to go to the I don't see the point in waiting on the other schools, and just accept now. -
I'm in ENMU's 2nd Bachelor program now and it's great. If you really want to pursue this career, then definitely apply again. I think you should definitely retake the GRE, however.

Seems like LATech had some odd standards this year. Sorry to hear about that. Good luck with everything else though!

Honestly, I don't think that was the real reason. If it really was the case, they would have told her, or at least would have contacted her several times before the due date if they had anything missing. They emailed me several times when one of my recs hadn't arrived yet.

I also applied to UL and haven't heard anything, but I saw on the admissions page, a girl already got her rejection letter the week after apps were due.
-
Thank you! I appreciate that!

Just got a rejection letter from LA Tech today. I never got asked for an interview for LSUHSC, so I already know that's not looking good. But, it's okay, I got 4 more schools to hear from! congrats to those who got in!

What Schools Are You Waiting On!?
edardi1 replied to speechie2b's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
LSUHSC (although I was never asked for an interview, so I think I know my fate for that), UH, ULL, LA Tech, Jackson State, South Alabama...pretty much every school I applied to, lol. -
It's getting close to when most of us are to hear of our fate for next year. Good luck if you haven't heard from anyone yet, and keep trying if it doesn't work out for you this year. And remember, if you don't get in to your #1 school, but did get in to your 2nd (or 3rd) choice, don't get discouraged because you still get to study what you want. Good luck!

I forgot they are a quarter-based school, and not semester based.

Texas programs acceptances fall 2017

Thanks! Good luck to you! -
Hi all, I'm finishing up my prerequisites, and I'm doing it online. Everything is open book/notes, which is great for me because I work full-time. However, I fear this scenario will come back to haunt me in the sense that I'm not "truly" preparing myself for graduate school. I do review my notes and read my chapters, however, I feel like I'm not absorbing it as much as I would be if I were taking a physical class. I have taken a few prereqs at a university near me, and received all A's and B's, so I know I'm capable of getting good grades on my own. I just want to know if there's anyone who had a similar experience and got into graduate school, but felt the open book/notes DID prepare them as well as someone who took classes in-person. I know I'm learning and I'm trying my hardest to study and absorb everything as much as I can as if my quizzes and stuff weren't open book, but I fear important things, mostly A&P stuff, will soon be forgotten.

Me too!

did they tell you when else they are emailing other people, or did they do so all at once? -
Cool! Last year I hear from LSU BR around beginning of March. I applied to UL too! Keeping my fingers crossed! Good luck to you!
-
In the past I've heard from LSUHSC around mid-March, but I heard they've already began interviewing people a few weeks ago. I didn't get asked, bleh. Anyway, what schools did you apply to?

Their website doesn't say, but I've seen past posts on this site of people getting invited to be interviewed. -

The only Texas school I applied to was UH. Hoping to hear something soon. Looks like they already started sending out notices for interviews. Here's to hoping!
