Do parents attend open houses?
edardi1 replied to chipsahoy2018's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
If you didn't know what open house was, then why did you answer? It might be a little strange to, but I've been to open houses before where someone brought their mom, another girl brought her BF. Usually these things ask if you plan on bringing guests anyway. It's not a big deal. I went to an open house with my friend for MBA school. Some people just need the moral support. -
you're probably right. they supposedly didn't get my final transcripts even though lsuhsc and uh got them the same day. I had to overnight them and they got then this past Monday. I'm hoping that doesn't negatively affect my acceptance.
-
Lsu and ull were due around the same time, so maybe we will hear from UL soon! fingers crossed!

She's talking about southern, not SE

I had some issues with my prerequisite school and ULL with my trasncripts. I had to overnight them last night, hopefully this doesn't affect my acceptance! #FingersCrossed!

A lot of schools provide assistantships. You have look into it yourself.

Reapplication form for graduate school
edardi1 replied to slpgirl898's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I don't think it's a bad thing. it's probably moreso to makes things more convenient for you and them, so that way you don't have refill out things like your undergraduate college, address, phone number, etc. all you have to do is just update the things that have changed, such as your LORs, statement, if you've taken anymore courses, etc. thus making it easier on you. -
I'm also applying to UL.

University of Houston, and Texas Tech

from what I saw last year, UH contacts those about interviews towards the end of February. The interviews are also about funding, and "not a guarantee of admission". -
thanks! good luck to you.

Sooooo...I just realized I didn't double-space my statement even though the website says to. How much is this going to cost me?

Thanks.

I made this thread so we can post updates as soon as we receive them about any schools in Louisiana. I'm applying to UL and LSUHSC-NO

CSDCAS Processing Time Question
edardi1 replied to alicalc7's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I kind of have a similar issue. My app for one school was due Monday, but my last semester's transcripts weren't mailed until Jan 2nd and they still haven't received them. Which sucks because I asked my school to mail them the day grades were posted, but they didn't mail them until the 2nd. I would contact the school and find out what you can do. My other transcripts were verified, just not final semester's yet. -
The best thing I can tell you is to look at EdFind. You can find stats of each school's acceptance candidates. Maybe that will give you an idea of what schools to apply to. Good luck.

Does anyone know of any links for SLP undergraduate scholarships? Most of the ones I keep finding are limited to people who live in a certain state/region.

Cool, thanks for the heads up!

thanks!

I found Kaplan's, Princeton Review's, and Magoosh's practice tests to be very close to how I actually did. Manhattan Prep's was not, but a lot of people rave about it, though.
