I can claim one of the waitlists for USC Annenberg! I also called them last week and they told me that all decisions should be sent out by the end of this week, so I imagine there's more to come!

My research interests are around race, ethnicity and sociology of sport kind of thing. What are yours? I had emailed this POI when I applied in 2016 (and they were at another university) and not heard anything back until now, so fingers crossed it's positive! Still no indication of whether this means anything in terms of my application and haven't heard from the university, so don't take it to mean anything in terms of your application, as it doesn't seem that they've sent any offers etc out yet!

Just got an email from POI at USC - didn't invite me for interview or offer acceptance though! Hopefully it's a good sign!! ?

I emailed their GSAS on the 17th and got the response: "All applications for Sociology are currently under review and decisions will be mailed out shortly." So I figured that there's still some hope...

Anybody have any information on Boston College or USC? Emailed BC today and they said "All applications for Sociology are currently under review and decisions will be mailed out shortly." but I saw an acceptance from the 13th on the results search??

Confused about the U Maryland acceptances/rejections on the results search as they told me updates would be sent out mid-February?... Should I be worried??

Is anyone claiming the Univeristy of Maryland acceptance? Seems much earlier than the ones from previous years?...

Do we know if all of the UCLA acceptances have gone out? Also, haven't seen too many acceptances for international students so far on the results search... Should I be worried?

MaxWeberHasAPosse - I also talked to the grad coordinator there and heard the same thing! I guess that's my first rejection then!

Agh freaking out. UT Austin was my first choice - not looking good now!!

Definitely seems like the department's have begun reviewing the applications in the past week - had emails from UMD and USC asking various questions about transcripts and GRE scores suddenly after weeks of silence!

I've completed my applications to 9 schools, and wasn't sure if it was allowed or frowned upon to contact potential advisors or faculty, so I didn't. Is this going to be a significant disadvantage to my application? And should I do it now (better late than never kind of thing...)?
