March 11th and counting. Still have not heard back from two programs. I remember starting this process with a very optimistic mindset, now I feel more like a dejected pessimist.

I think I have finally gotten to a point in my email addiction where I am actually afraid to check it. My first decision letter, which was a rejection, has me paranoid that more bad news is on the way. That bad trip has me on the straight and narrow hahah I think I might finally be cured. I don't need my email fix as bad as I thought I did. -

Checked it for the billionth time today and a letter finally appeared. It was a rejection letter, but whatever... at least it was something. I still have two more programs that are supposed to get back to me. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get shutout.

Finally heard back from one of the schools I applied to. Unfortunately it was a rejection, but at least I finally heard something. Still waiting on two other programs. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

So I made it through the weekend without checking my email or portal more than once per day! I was finally starting to be at peace with the experience and then I got a text last night from a student in the department asking me if I have heard anything yet. Now I'm back to my regular old email addiction.
