Hi I'll be applying to Csu Fresno and UTD. I've heard a lot about the program at UTD and absolutely love it there. Any inputs on fresno ? Good luck to everyone , hopefully we hear by the end of October !

Ya I am on my mobile. I'm an international applicant from Mumbai , India. Graduated with a degree in audiology and speech path. GPA - 3.84 horrible GRE - 304. Working at 4 places , two multi rehab centres , one private clinic and one NGO. I'm applying to only Dallas and CSU Fresno .. I really hope I get in .. If I don't I'm going to continue working and apply for fall... And even my applications will go in mid August because of my transcripts.. I really hope it's early enough for UTD it's my dream school You have a great profile .. I'm sure you will get in

From what I've heard is that they are less competitive, but every year the competition just seems to be getting higher .. so who knows how it's actually going to be

I haven't found any other school in California having a spring intake. Dallas and Fresno are my top choices but given my stats I really hope I get in. By when are the decisions out ?

I didn't get in any of the schools for fall .. So I'm considering applying for spring now .. My question is these schools don't rank well on the U.S. News rankings and I don't know how to judge how the program is . Except Dallas I've not heard about the others schools .. Any inputs would be great Thank you

Thank you so much ! The problem is I'm an international applicant , and so I don't know if these programs will be valid for me , but I'm gonna email them and try ! Has anyone pursued these remediation training programs , and can give me first hand review about it , that would be great ! Thanks a tonne !

Any idea about short term courses that I could do ? I'm an undergrad in speech path , but I'm wait listed at a few programs don't know if I'll make it so I'm considering a short term course before applying again for the next cycle if at all I need to ! But I'm having trouble finding enough information so it would be good if anyone could help me through it Thanks !

Even teachers college columbia doesn't require gre , and mostly even CSU fullerton doesn't ( not too sure of that )

I guess it could mean either way .. But it's a risk that you need to think and decide what to do .. Why don't you call them on 8th and ask them what is expected before you decline your offer to the other school ?

Oh which means nothing till 8th .. But it's pretty soon though.. Please tell us what he says

Also , you could email the program directors at thee universities and ask them what you could do to strengthen your application ! Re appearing for gre , shadowing a SLP , volunteering is what I would do. But mostly talking to the professors helps a lot I would strongly suggest that There are other groups on the forum who talk about less competitive programs and have discussed what to do strengthen the app , you could read that as well All the best I know it's a pain to do it all again but there are many people in the same boat ! Don't give up
