  1. I'm confused. I too have some schools that require a deposit and others that simply want an answer. For the fully funded schools that also require a deposit, does that money like..ever come back to us once we actually enter the program?
  2. For those that have successfully received deadline extensions, how many additional weeks have they given you? Strangely, I've been allowed an extension of one month for one school, and asked to name a date for another...? I didn't really want to take too much advantage of the school, so I picked something reasonable within this month, but maybe I could've pushed for next month.
  3. Oh, I actually applied to only one Epi program, everything else was slightly different fields. I was trying to gauge how unfortunate/lucky I was. It was very difficult getting funding though, and there was some begging involved. Like I mentioned earlier, mine is: -Top 20 program: Full tuition funding + 20K [Continued funding after 1st year "not guaranteed"... ]
  4. This has been discussed a bit, but would you all mind posting what funding packages you have received specifically from Epi programs? From what I can see, these are the most popular programs in all PH tracks, so I am not too surprised to see schools being stingy. Like above, I too have 20K + tuition but there are issues with this school
  5. This is an interesting question. I too would think that schools would likely do away with a financial aid package if a student were to accept their offer quickly.
  6. Are deadline extensions even possible? I never heard a single student try and succeed.
  7. Good luck all! Graduating in 2 months and Baltimore has been a wonderful experience.
  8. One of my close friends is a 2nd year SW and PH student at WashU. As someone had noted, their SW program is fantastic, but their PH program is still developing and very few places recognize them. A lot of the focus in the school is concentrated on their SW students (it is within the SW school after all), so she's felt that the resources of their PH students is limited. She did mention that new students have more stringent requirements now, I'm not sure what this would mean in terms of being a more recognized among the PH field though.
  9. JHU and WUSTL are both prestigious universities .Though, I'm probably biased since I'm a current student at Johns Hopkins. From what I hear, WUSTL has a top-ranked medical school though if you're interested in working with them.
