I'd have to say I'd be pretty shocked if they made you become a Methodist as well, I didn't think they had a religious affiliation at UCSD. In all seriousness, it has to be what you applied for (i.e. im sure they didnt change you from an americanist to a methodologist).

I'm really starting to freak out about my chances. I thought applying to 13 schools would give me a decent chance to get in somewhere, but as I look through my emails (think Tina Slater's we have 393 applicants this year...) I'm starting to think it will be nearly impossible for me to get in anywhere. Ugh. end vent

I hate to repeat a question, but I don't think it has been fully answered. What does happen if you can't make a school visit? I assume/hope you only miss the ability to become better acquainted with the department, area, etc.?

Whoops, posted this bit in a different thread but thought I should put it here. I got some information regarding Brown. Apparently they have not made any decisions, and they say there is no possible way 4 people were admitted when the results page says they were...I hope they're not lying to me, this gives me some hope!

Those of us on a wait list don't want to hear this! You do make some good points about playing it safe, however.

They sent out letters last week, but I don't know if they're trickling out or if was all at once. I haven't heard of anyone being sent a rejection letter. Just acceptances and my darn waitlist notification. EDIT: I hear they're closed because of snow, however.

Got all my apps in before I came abroad. The time difference is frustrating though (Balkans). Great original post OP!

Yeah, I have a safety, but I really thought that the school at which I'm now waitlisted was where I'd end up and right in my range. I'm just freaking out that this spells doom and gloom from here on out.

Got my first result via postal yesterday (parents somehow forgot to call me and tell me-I am out of the country). Waitlisted at a school near the end of my list. I already know three other schools I applied to sent out the first round of acceptances. My anxiety is turning into full fledged despair.

Ugh I want to hear from all of them. What is killing me is that acceptances (at least from one university) seem to trickle out 1 or 2 at a time each day. The anxiety is wearing me down haha. Here's to anywhere I get in!

Clinging to this notion for one school. It seems like the rest I have applied to haven't sent out any decisions yet.

I'd also love to hear what people have to say about this. I graduated early and am working in a different country for the time being...

Ugh this thread title is all to fitting. Every one of my 13 schools says they'll give decisions in March. However this board has made me nervous that in actuality they give the accepted students their decisions much sooner! Ahhhh!
