People go to Ivy league schools for the prestige and still can't find a job after graduating while others go to lower ranking schools and go on to have great careers. Don't go to a school that won't make you happy, high ranking or not. Study your ass off for the GREs, have faith in yourself and nothing can stop you!

@FeelTheBern The university was closed today due to the snow but I emailed the head of the cognitive department. I should hear back from him in a few days

I'm applying to a few Human Development/Family Studies programs(UD and a few schools in PA), I hope we all get interviews soon!

Analyticchic got a reaction from knp in What are you really grateful for?
    Hey guys,
I'm a fan of introspective questions and I just have to ask, what are you guys grateful for? It can be anything: the family dog, snow, the $20 dollars you found nestled into your laundry basket, that wawa sub/hoagie after a long day, etc.
I'm really grateful for my family(we had a tough time with one of siblings earlier this year), the variety music my coworkers play on the daily when we're fixing apple products(I'm a mobile tech for Apple), a good cup of tea, going out on dates more, board games, movies, and just more confidence in myself

    Your turn!

Analyticchic got a reaction from Generic_Applicant in Contacting POI during the admission process
    Hey guys,
Would it be advantageous to contact potential POIs during the admission process or could it actually count against you? For one of my programs, I actually contacted one of the POIs in early September and we ended up meeting to talk about his research and the program(and introduced me to two of his graduate students). Would it be a bad idea to email other POIs and ask about their research? I don't want to come off as desperate or worse, lol.

I'm tired of the politics at my job, scared of taking my gres in October, and coming on too strong/needy with guys I have an interest in(I never even notice it until they say something or ignore me without warning), it hurts to be ignored. I'm hopeless but working on myself....I hope to this nerdy guy I was talking to talks to me again *shugs*
