I would refrain from this interpretation. The poster was likely from a country (not gonna name names) where cheating on the GRE is common, and hence it was likely standard policy to request, in a live exchange, that the applicant confirm the validity of their scores. Given the 165/157/4.50 admit to Yale posted just two places down, I'd venture to say that GREs are, as usual, not of paramount importance here.

I was just coming to the forum to post this same message, then I saw your name and thought: finally, he must've gotten his e-mail! Sorry to see you're still waiting, too. These protracted Yale posts are really drawing this out to painful lengths. I find the admissions process to be increasingly similar to Tantalus' torment.

My recalcitrant half wants to spew objections and dissent, citing bitter memories of March 2012 for which I should technically be thankful, and accepting the persistent reassurance I'm being offered as a challenge to show all of you that I will indeed fail.

Thank you! No idea, unfortunately. Though the fact that they split calls for their small number of offers over 2 days suggests it's not done in one quick sweep. At the same time, I don't want to draw out anybody's agony by giving possibly unwarranted hope - I know the pain all too well from yesterday. I'm sorry I don't have anything useful to say :/  I'm crossing my fingers for you. 

I got a phone call from Yale an hour ago or so (I had to calm down some before coming on here as I was actually hyperventilating at some point. But !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I've still not quite recovered. This has to be one of the happiest moments of my life, if not the happiest one. (And that after I spent most of yesterday utterly depressed and heart-broken about a presumed rejection from them.)

But you did end up at one of the best schools in the US for your undergrad! Given your spectacular profile, I'm sure you will do similarly well in your grad applications -- hang in there!

See, through simple bullshit, I've arrived at just what I wanted to hear.

I'm calling BS on the MA postings. PhDs usually go out first and they haven't yet (someone here sourced that they wouldn't come out until March), and MAs have never been earlier than March. Nobody is claiming them, and I don't see anything on my application status. Very likely fake, especially given the one poster mentioned "smaller school". Toronto is the exact opposite of a small school.
