Thanks so much to everyone for sharing in the excitement, anxiety, tension and every other bit of this process. I think it's invaluable to have access to this community, and I've definitely benefited from it!
I think we're all fortunate to have this resource as we continue with the process. From waiting to hear back about interviews, to interviewing, to more waiting to hear back, to what school to choose, to backup plans and other next steps.

In all the chaos and stress that (almost) everyone is going through now (including me haha), I just wanted to express how moved I am to see such a supportive group of people, and I want to thank you all for being a part of my graduate applications journey. Here's to keeping our fingers crossed for other potential invites to come in the next week or so!

Just got back from my first interview! It was SO much fun, and way less stressful than I imagined.

Several of the schools I have interviews at have specifically told us we will share a room with another interviewee, and I am assuming that 2 per room is pretty standard, but just an assumption

Another possibility is that faculty members that you indicated you wanted to meet with may not be available during the first weekend you selected, but they will be around the later date - in which case it would probably be to your advantage to choose the other option

Total guess, but they probably just have people who can't attend the second date and have filled the first date already, so they want to try to get anyone they can to switch to even out the numbers.  I wouldn't be worried.

Nope, didn't apply to CSBi.  I did get an email to interview for UCSF though, and just got the call for Stanford Biomedical Informatics!

Just called the office for regular immunology (not microbio), she'll tell you readily whether you got invited or not based on first name (I got invited...so pumped, dream school). Look for the number under "program manager". Best of luck!

I got an email invite from UC Berkeley MCB this morning at 8:18 am. I was also contacted by a POI before the holidays to receive the unofficial interview invite.
