  1. Congrats to everyone getting acceptances! Is it safe to say that if we haven't heard from Emerson by now regarding an interview, it's a no go … maybe a wait list?
  2. Hi @talkingcake! I did get a confirmation email once I submitted my application, so that's odd you didn't. But whenever I check for NYU, I just go back to the application page. Good luck!
  3. @OverCaffeinated yes! the supplemental application account no prob for NYU! good luck!
  4. hi @OverCaffeinated -- MGH does and so does NYU. I also applied to Boston Univ. but didn't receive any info about a portal, just an email confirming they received everything.
  5. Hi! Thanks @OverCaffeinated for also answering my question! Best of luck! @alicecdstudent I also didn't get an email and nothing on my portal, but their website says that " Candidates will receive invitations to interview in the first two weeks of February 2016." (http://www.emerson.edu/graduate-admission/apply) so there's still time! Also didn't hear from Boston University yet. Good luck!
  6. Hi! About Emerson, did you guys get an email about the interview, or did you just check? Thanks! Good luck!
  7. Hi! I live in the NYC area and have the same concerns regarding tuition, but yes, have checked out the DOE scholarship. Other than that, don't really know except hopefully there is a great financial aid package! The best advice I can give about living expenses is find a roommate(s), and in addition to Manhattan, check out Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, north Jersey, etc. Just don't live above a restaurant, ha! My friend did in Astoria, Queens (cute town!) and there were rats and roaches in the apartment good luck!
  8. Hi! Go to Academic History, then hit "edit" under the school name. It will allow you to enter Spring 2016 planned coursework!
  9. Hi! In regards to SOPs, can you say in your statement you interviewed a "graduate speech pathologist student" at the on-campus clinic? Or, what would be a better term? I was a broadcast journalism major, and that was a project I was assigned! It got me into SLP Thanks!
  10. Thank you so much for your reply @curly_girl! Can I please ask where you applied? I am retaking the GRE in a few weeks. As for the pre-reqs, will only have Phonetics and Speech and Language Development under my belt, the others ASHA requirements. Thanks again for your help! Appreciate it! And huge congrats on your acceptance!
  11. Hi everyone! Applying for Fall 2016 Speech Language Pathology programs. I graduated five years ago with a bachelors in Journalism and a minor in Speech Communication - 3.18 overall GPA. While I am applying as a "without a background" applicant, I did go back to school to complete some of the pre-requisites (stats, phonetics, etc.); and looks like after a year back in school, I'll finish with a 3.4 overall GPA. However, I did withdraw from a class this semester as I accepted a research assistant position and am doing observation hours on the on-campus clinic, in addition to the internship I've had for about a year now. I did take the GRE, and honestly didn't do so well and plan on retaking it. My scores at the end of the exam were 147 verbal, and 142 quantitative. Do not have my writing score yet. Was anyone in a similar situation, and got in? If so, to which schools? Preferably, would like to stay in the East Coast. Thank you so much!
