  1. It was actually an individualized visitation, meaning that no one day for all students was planned, but each student can when they could. I went Feb. 13 with two other prospective students, and two other students went last week.
  2. I applied and was accept to UIUC. I just accepted my offer yesterday, so I cannot really speak to the waitlist. I think they don't do interviews. I did not have one, so I doubt those accepted off the will either. Best to you!
  3. I received a letter of acceptance too. Did yours have a funding offer in it? I unfortunately was put on a waitlist for funding.
  4. Great! I look forward to meeting you. I am chatting with some other people who will be there just to get to know them beforehand. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk. Best!
  5. Will any of the UC Davis admits be attending the student reception? Just curious to see if anybody on here is going.
  6. I can also claim a UC Davis admit. Not expected, but happy nonetheless.
  7. Hi all. I can report that I was placed on the "short wait list" for Rice. The DGS told me that they are admitting a total of 6 people this year. I will let everyone on this forum who are applying to Rice, are hoping to go there, or are also on the wait list know that I will likely turn it down this week as I have already had a good offer at another university. If you have any questions about the interview or Rice, I can try to help with what little I do know. Best!
  8. That's good to know. Thanks everyone!
  9. I could be wrong. here is the email. Tell me what you think. I edited my name out. "Dear "my name", I'm writing to inform you that admissions decisions will be sent out the week of February 19, 2018. Best, Jessie Eastman Graduate Program Coordinator Department of Political Science" Thoughts?
  10. That might be evidence for a "they are just late in making decisions" conclusion. I still don't like it.
  11. Yeah, mine seemed too personal to be a generic email sent en masse. Though I don't know what it means.
  12. I literally was just typing the same thing. Do you think that is what it means or that they may be late in making decisions?
  13. Hey thanks for the congrats. I can't say much about if other acceptances have been sent out, especially for subfields other than AP. But don't give up hope if you applied there. I agree with the above post on waiting for commitment or not before sending out more. I will let you know as I know more. Best!
  14. Thank you. Best of luck to you as well!
  15. @toad1 No this is not a transfer. I applied to UNC back during that cycle and got in and committed, but I had a heath crisis that, on doctor's advice, forced me to withdraw and return home. So I had to go through the process again. U of I is really close to where I live - about 50 miles away - so applying there made sense. Also from what the DGS told me over the phone, they have more of a political behavior/psychology bent than I originally thought. So that is where I am. Just ignore that past stuff.
