GreaT, @Elvidi and I can't wait to check some of those out @MarineBluePsy ????
-
@Elvidi have you watched Bones? It's one of my favorites and I think there are 10 seasons on Netflix already! If not, how about Parks and Rec? If you've seen those, let me know! My SO is a movie/TV buff so I can find more suggestions for you!

Whining time: When you turned in your applications way before the deadline (Nov. 13 for a Jan. 7 deadline) and so you know that it's going to be ages before you hear back, you're going to have a bad time. I had to turn everything in early for this program so that I could prompt my LOR writers to submit their letters in enough time. I keep checking my email, even though there is absolutely no way I'll hear anything for a while. Silver lining: At least I know they've received all of my documentation? My favorite wine is Cabernet, but I much prefer to drink beer. Any wheat ale is my favorite!

What were you doing when you received your acceptance?

@onceinalifetime best of luck!!! I can't wait to find out if you get in! The stress of relocating must make the waiting period even more difficult. -
Depending on your geographical area, there are even some MHS programs. My current program is a Masters of Health Sciences in clinical rehabilitation and counseling. We get to learn both general mental health counseling AND and specialty, which offers more job opportunities. Just an idea!

I'm in the same boat with one of my programs! I feel like it isn't over until the school tells me it's over. There's no way to know what can happen! Best of luck!

@onceinalifetime definitely! Thanks! I feel now like it was a good thing. I've done so much more research, and I feel much more prepared for this application season. Hopefully I get good news this year! My applications are limited to my geographical area due to family, so that can make it tough. -

The applications gave me something active to do toward reaching my goal. Now that I'm just waiting, I feel helpless. The waiting is the worst!! Good luck everyone ❤️

When I got my acceptance letter for my MHS (May 2014), I was at work at a job I hated. I was working unpaid overtime, and I was crying because I felt like I would be stuck in a job like this forever. This was my third application cycle, and I hadn't been accepted to any PhD programs. This was the first Masters program I applied to, and when my mom called and told me I had a letter, I asked her to open it. I was sure it was another rejection. When she read, "Congratulations," I didn't think it was real. It took me 20 minutes to stop shaking! Now, hopefully I will have that feeling again soon for a doctoral program. -
Applying to a mental health counseling program
Nolagirl replied to PrincessPearl's topic in Waiting it Out
I am currently a second year student in a counseling MHS program, and, when I applied, I found out mid-May. Not comforting, sorry. Best of luck!! -
Good luck, everyone! Every time I get a notification in this feed, I get nervous that someone has heard from Tulane!
-
I just applied to these two. I'm doing a lot of the same to prepare. I'm hoping that Tulane will notify us soon for interviews!! I guess with these things it's hard to tell. I noticed in last year's results that someone received an email to interview on 12/19, so maybe we could hear something this week? Let's hope!

I'm nervously awaiting Tulane U school psych and the University of New Orleans Applied Developmental Psych!!! How are y'all preparing for potential interviews?
