  1. Ah I see. Didn't think of it like that. I was honest in my responses. Didn't tell them where I was attending, but told them the graduate assistantship package I accepted is what drew me in. They can deduce from that that their stipend needs to be raised to match the cost of living (train ride away from NYC).
  2. Sent two decline e-mails after I accepted an offer from another. One program accepted me, another reached out to touch base. Kept the e-mails short and professional. Thanked them for the offer, stated how it was a difficult decision, mentioned that I wish to work together in the future. The program that accepted me wrote that they were disappointed but understanding. Had me fill out a survey on why I chose another program (not their business tbh) and how they could improve. The other program thanked me for my response and wished me well.
  3. I got accepted into the College Student Services Administration program last month. The deadline was December 15th. No contact until my acceptance on Feb 18th. Professor and head coordinator of the program contacts me about the GA process. Interviewed for a GA position a week later. Second interview 1.5 weeks later. Offered and accepted the position three hours after the interview was complete. My program is being completely revamped, so I expect low communication. Hope you get accepted into a program soon.
  4. No problem! I applied to Oregon State as well. Recently completed my phone interview there. I'll be interviewing with Northern Arizona next week. If you have any questions about either schools or the grad application process in general, feel free to shoot me a message.
  5. I applied to Northern Arizona. Heard really great things about their program. I recently attended a Google Hangout with their Housing GAs and they were really friendly and helpful. Know someone who got into Seattle U for the Fall 2016 cohort. From their comments and Seattle U's website, their program seems pretty solid. The deadline has passed though if you haven't submitted your app. Which OSU? There are so many schools with that acronym.
  6. Interviewing with West Georgia and Oregon State. Excited and nervous!
  7. On student affairs Facebook groups, folks in grad school and in the field stated name doesn't matter much for graduate degrees. As long as it's an accredited program/university, you're fine. @MetriX I have a friend who works at UT Austin and they love both the university and the area. Major city with diverse groups of people and so much to do.
  8. I hear ya. Rejected from two, hear back from one in two weeks, the rest in March. The going's been tough. *sighs*
