I don't know why either.  If you did well in statistics, you will be fine scoring standardized assessments.
I'm in my second semester as a graduate student, and I did horrible on the math portion of the GRE.
I've done several diagnostics and have used lots of different standardized assessments.  I've also given standardized assessments to clients.  All you need to do is simple addition and subtraction and have a basic understanding of statistics. Converting raw scores is very simple and straight forward.  Attention to detail and analysis skills are more important than a GRE quantitative score.

Just got a second acceptance at Governors State University! I never expected that I would have to make a decision between grad schools. Thankful to be in this position

I'm crossing my fingers for you! I applied to Portland State also, so here's to hoping we both get in!

Ah, okay. I feel better hearing that. I was a transfer and commuter student at my state college, and had to drive a total of 3 hours a day to my classes, 5 days a week. I didn't have time to take on any research or extra curriculars because of travel time, as well as course load (18-20 credits per semester). I tried to make up for last year by doing an internship and taking pre-reqs online as well as working, but we'll see...
On a side note, how was their program with funding, if you know anything about that? I looked at scholarships but it looked like they were all for current students or accepted students, rather than applicants. And most were for undergrads, I believe.

I panicked when I got an email from PSU this morning, only to see that it was telling us again that emails will arrive at end of March.  Half of me is relieved (no rejection!) but other half of me is annoyed (can you just tell me already?).  I suppose no news is good news.

Then in all honesty, I have no idea why math scores are so important when looking at applicants. No idea

I find that the GRE is such a ridiculous test to focus on. A test does not depict the the type of person you are. I have friends who took the GRE, without studying, and straight up killed it. I studied for two months and came out mediocre. Schools should put more emphasis on the person themselves and not the grades.

I've never seen this kind of thing before. I know Kean does this in lieu of an essay, but I didn't see a video survey until now lol. I would say focus on looking comfortable in front of the camera, and knowing what you want to say and rehearsing that so it sounds natural and you know how much time it would probably take you to record, so you don't feel rushed. And smile a lot because appearing friendly and easy going definitely can't hurt. Best of luck!

WHAT DO THESE SCHOOLS WANT?  You could literally be the president of the U.S. and still get rejected.

I really hope so. I'm still checking for e-mails for MGH. I think last year they sent them out at 6pm to check the portal. Might as well get the bad news done with in one sitting, and console myself over nutella and a cinnamon bun.

I started unsubscribing to a bunch of random companies sending me e-mail because I get an adrenaline rush every 30 minutes from an Uber or ebay e-mail

That was really helpful! Thanks! All I've heard about Syracuse was that it snows a lot there (wasn't really helpful)  I heard students were placed in NYC for practicum though.

I'm sure  your essay and letters of recommendation are really good. BUT sometimes, those two can be problematic. Sometime the applicants have long letters, or they ramble, or grammar is not very good. Other times, applicants don't even mention how they are a good fit for the schools. The schools LOVE to hear how you've done your research on the school and department. Sometimes in letters, writers mention something about your personality that is negative. It's amazing to me how little thought people put into who they ask to write letters. Anyway, you sound like you have good qualifications. Maybe you need to look into smaller, less known programs.
    GOOD LUCK!!!

Please don't give up hope! There is definitely a program out there for you and you WILL find your way into it!
As for MGH, I have seen in the past on the results page that they offer people through the phone in waves and that people get emails saying they were accepted. I have been accepted by phone and my portal hasn't changed. I think the professor said everything should update by Monday.
There will be good that comes out of this! Just hold out for it!
