  1. I was just admitted to Texas A&M today for their MPH program. I'm still awaiting responses from other schools but has anyone here been in the MPH program there? How did you like? Did it align with your career goals? How is the campus climate? The student to faculty ratio in this program? The job opportunities availible? Proximity to major cities?
  2. So is an MHA and an MPH in Healthcare Management/Administration not the same thing?
  3. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make myself more appealing to the admissions committees? I am applying to MPH program but my GRE was a bit low but I do have a decent GPA (3.22) & a valuable research assistant position & internship at a federally qualified health center. I will be submitting on March 1st... Thanks!
  4. I am currently applying to MPH programs. I am a senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign graduating with a B.S. in Community Health. I was wondering if anyone has been thru the MPH program at DePaul and how it was. How was professor to student interaction? The rigor of the program? Resources available to students? Housing available to graduate students? Also I have a 3.2 GPA, stellar letters of recommendation, and I am a research assistant. Do I have a chance of being admitted?
  5. Thanks for the suggestion! I actually ended up finding out that DePaul University in Chicago my hometown does NOT require the GRE if you have at least a 3.0 GPA so I have decided to submit an application there!
  6. You should definitely retake. Your quant score is the first percentile and the verbal score is in the 33rd. And your GPA, while decent, is not astronomical. Change your test-taking mindset from a fixed one ("I'm naturally bad at this") to a growth mindset. Taking standardized tests is not some natural or innate quality that some people are born with and others aren't...standardized test techniques are learned. You can learn them too, with some practice. Thanks for the suggestion! I actually ended up finding out that DePaul University in Chicago my hometown does NOT require the GRE if you have at least a 3.0 GPA so I have decided to submit an application there!

  8. Luckily I found that DePaul University in Chicago (which is where I'm from!) does NOT require applicants to submit a GRE score IF you have a 3.0 undergraduate GPA or higher! I will be applying there! Thanks for all your suggestions though guys!
  9. Thanks guys! Does anyone know any MPH programs that don't require the GRE?
  10. I received a 133 Q and 147 V on the GRE.. however I have a 3.2 Gpa, A research assistant position and really good letters of recommendation.I really don't want to have to retake the GRE because I'm naturally a bad test taker and I don't believe re taking it will make much of a difference. Do I have a chance of getting into Georgia State, Texas A&M, UT Houston's, MPH program?
