It looks like I have zero chances of getting an admit from UoT. University of Toronto`s program has been my top choice. I think they are looking for more experienced candidates in the field of public health. I

I have called to DLSPH. They said that it`s a rolling based admissions and we can expect the decision till Mid June for MPH Epi. applicants. I think number of students they accommodate for MPH Epi. is high. So, every year usually how many students do they accept for MPH Epi. program ? I

Alberta`s MPH program is the one of the oldest public health programs in Canada. They also have CEPH accreditation so, if you would like to work in the US after MPH then, it won`t be a problem for you. As they are offering the program since a long time, I feel that they have a wide range of courses to choose from along with well developed network of practicum sites.

Do anyone have an idea about when University of Alberta is going to send the decisions for MPH Epidemiology concentration ? I think it has already started giving out decisions long back ?

Queen`s program is comparatively older than McMaster`s.

@And1 I do feel so but, I think MPH Epidemiology offers more courses that are geared towards epidemiology than MSc Public Health. -

Hi! Thank you for creating this thread. I was looking for a discussion exclusively related to MPH Epi. I too have applied to Univ. of Toronto MPH Epi., Univ. of Alberta MPH Epi., MSc Public Health at McGill. I got an admit from McGill. As far as I know, McGill`s curriculum is mostly oriented towards Epidemiology so, I am of the view that it will give me equal edge with a MPH Epi. graduate from another University. What`s your view towards it? -
Thank you for the reply It`s quite useful. I was recommended by the McGill`s dept. of Epi. and Biostatistics for MSc PH program on February 23rd and it was also mentioned in the letter that I will receive a offer from GPS within two weeks but, I haven`t received it yet. I emailed to the dept. They said that recommendation was forwarded to the GPS and I will receive a offer letter by the end of this week. So, eagerly waiting for it. After getting recommended by the dept., within how many days did you receive the offer from GPS ?

Which program do you guys feel good in terms of course content and job prospects. What I felt is McGill`s MSc PH is more oriented towards epidemiology and biostatistics but, the degree is not a specialization or thesis based in Biostats or Epi. so, how useful will be the program in terms of employment ? UoSask MPH curriculum is diverse but, I don`t know how well it will make us competent in finding employment. So, could anyone provide your views on both of them. McGill`s MSc PH vs. UoSaskatchewan`s MPH ?
