  1. I would go to your profs anyway, explain your situation (applying to grad school, need letters). It may feel weird and like you're using them, but they know the deal. Only go to them if you got an A in their course. Ask them if you can set an appt with them to talk about grad school and come ready to talk about your career goals. Bring your resume and letter of intent for them to read. I applied to SLP programs this year and was told by my advisor that programs highly value professor LOR or LOR from an SLP you did an internship with.
  2. Not yet! They told me that an acceptance letter from the graduate school was on its way but that hasn't come yet. I wrote Ms. Abadie about grad assistants hips but I haven't heard anything back from them yet. Will probably be emailing to,or row to make sure they got my postcard accepting the spot in the program!
  3. Yay! I know, I'd like to visit as well, but for me I either go here or not go anywhere so the choice is simple! From what I see online of their program, it seems like it has everything I am looking for- research opportunities, diverse clinical opportunities, and a relatively small class size. I did some poking around on Craigslist and there seems to be a ton of decent and affordable housing options around campus, at least compared to housing costs around ASU where I am at now. AND BR is home to Louisiana's only Trader Joes so I could totally live there. I'm also very excited about football season. I heard tailgating gets crazy!
  4. I just applied and got into an MA program in communication disorders 10 years out of undergrad in a completely different field from my undergrad degree, so it's never too late! I would suggest, if you have time, to take a class or two as a post bac student to ease your way back into being a student and to get new, fresh, academic LORs who can comment on you as a student now, not how you were 5 years ago.
  5. Did anyone on here get into LSU-BR? I was accepted and it is so far my only acceptance so I guess that's where I'm headed! Looking to get in contact with others in the cohort but don't know how!
