Heard back from UIUC with a rejection today, which I expected and am okay with. Hope you all are doing okay and wishing ya'll so so much luck, it's hard out this year ❤️
I am sorry for that. I got accepted at this program and will be accepting the offer. Which POI did you applied to?

Hopelessly expecting to hear something from University of Minnesota, UIUC and University of Oregon. Has anyone heard something from them?

Hey!
Anxiously awaiting a decision from U Mich social context and personality program - anyone heard anything. I think if I refresh GradCafe one more time and I see Clinical Psych people getting decisions and nothing on Social I may scream.
Clinical Psychology gets all the love in this forum ?

I have not gotten any interview invitations yet. I know that UC Berkeley has sent a mass interview invitation email (department). Any other interviews for social psych programs that have not been mentioned in this thread yet?
I have applied to University of Minnesota, University of Oregon and UIUC. I haven't heard anything from them yet.

I was wondering in those new applicants have any research experience?
Edit: considering they decided to get into academia given the lack of opportunities in other fields, I can only suppose they don't have much research experience. I am assuming that those who seek to be involved with research during their undergraduate years are those who end up applying directly to graduate school after finishing their undergraduate degrees.

Just finished my applications for University of Oregon, UIUC and UMN. Fingers crossed.

UMN system is not available. WTF?

Hi! What if I'm also the first author (with other authors as 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively) on the manuscript currently under review? Can I still submit that as a writing sample or would that be ethically wrong?
I have the same question!

After replying to the professor, take some time to absorb what the person wrote and how you can draw confidence from the appraisal.
Rather than asking yourself "Am I good enough?" (a question kicked around the GradCafe often), can you ask yourself "How good can I be?"This is exactly what I was thinking ?. Self-doubt really fuels my anxiety in this process. That email was from a well known professor in the field, so I am a bit confused.

Thank you! I just replied back! Hope he really meant it!

HELP!
A professor just replied to an email saying given my training and skill set, I would be ideal. I don't know how to reply back... what should I write?

If it's simply a matter of determining whether the POI is accepting this year, I would just email someone in admissions for the department.
It was more like to show interest in their research and have that first contact. Do you know if the admissions staff have any information on budget cuts etc.?
-
I'm nervous because most POIs are not replying my emails, even after I sent a kind follow-up ?
-
The only responses I got so far came from professors informing they are not anticipating taking any new students next year ?
-
I didn't hear back from the POIs I contacted... it's been two weeks

I am applying to Social/Personality programs.
