My last reply came today. I got all rejections. We are not going anywhere this year. I'm hopeful for next year though! In the meantime I'm going to do some conference presentations, possibly go to a summer training program with one of the professors I want to work with (if I can come up with the money, it's overseas), and hopefully get some more research experience. So hopefully I'll be more competitive next year. Wishing everyone the best of luck!

University Of Tennessee Knoxville Poetry, MFA (F13) Rejected via E-mail on 16 Feb 2014 ♦ A 21 Feb 2014 Got a nice letter that said "due to the depressed job market for English graduates." Nice of them to remind you that not only have you been rejected, you also have no chance at jobs.

NOT a funny rejection, but one that is absolutely heartbreaking.  This is a student with excellent GRE scores and a killer GPA who wrote:
 
 
Whoever you are, just know that I wanted to reach through my screen and give you the biggest hug ever.  This process is a killer, but please remember that this school's rejection does not determine your worth!  
 
That statement may have sounded cliche or cheesy to the point where it needed nachos to go with it, but EVERYONE should remember it!  Just because you didn't fit a program's standards does not mean you're worthless.
 
Now, this person's statement could have been completely sarcastic.  If so, then I'm sorry for getting all sappy!

Ok, there was one (not going to try to find it) that said, after an acceptance, something like,
 
"I saw a moose today and took it as a good omen. It was."
 
And then someone afterwards who was rejected, something like:
 
"Did not see a moose."
 
LOL.

Congrats @GeorgeC07, @eternalwait, @Feanor, and anyone I missed! Sooooo sorry you had to resubmit @Marshall, that's unbelievably awful :(((((((  I hope the letter acquiring process turns out not to be so bad!
Out of my four apps (why oh why did I think that was enough?!) I've had two rejections, and one school that I've pretty much given up on since I know they did interviews the beginning of January. So I'm really only waiting on one more school, which was my least favorite choice, but at this point I'll take it! Trying to see what I can do to improve my chances for next cycle; I've mostly given up on this one. But I'm still checking my email every 20 minutes, so I guess some part of me is still hoping

Haha! Well my parents are hoping to move wherever I go, so that my mom can babysit my kids. So my dad wants to know where he should be looking for jobs. I applied to four schools. So he's pretty anxious about it too.
