  1. I just checked Western's website, and it says decisions will be in February. Which means 9 more days if they stick to that timeline, and THAT means I am now anxious and having major regrets about checking decision timelines! I wish I still thought all schools were releasing 2-year program decisions mid-March at the earliest haha! Looks like the mail key and refresh button will get some good use this week!
  2. This may be completely wrong... but does anyone else feel like Canadian schools are taking particularly long to release admissions decisions?! I've already heard of tons of American/European schools releasing decisions, it makes me even more anxious to hear back!
  3. @tnt92 my thoughts exactly!! I keep telling myself "4-6 more weeks".... but does that mean it's more like 8 weeks for the two year program?! I can't handle this waiting!
  4. I am sorry to hear about that lindaMSW. Please don't let this destroy your self-confidence, there are many factors out of your control that can affect the admissions decision. Your perseverance shows your dedication to the field and genuine desire to help others, and I think that says more about you than a silly letter. Keep your head held high, one day this will just be a story of courage to tell!
  5. I really wish I had thought of applying to the 1 year BSW as well. I've heard a couple of people mention it and it's an awesome idea to be able to keep moving on should this round of MSW acceptances not be our friend!
  6. I've also applied to those programs! Hopefully we'll be classmates!
  7. U of T, Laurier, York, and Western for me. I've heard really awesome things about the program at Laurier! A professor of mine put me in touch with someone from the program, and she absolutely loves it (I don't have many specifics unfortunately because I was a timid little bean at that time). Also, my favourite professor of all time teaches at Laurier, so if he is any indication of the quality of their professors.... Unfortunately he isn't involved with the MSW program so my opinion of this particular professor isn't really that relevant haha
  8. I don't have very much experience with the admissions process, so someone please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I've heard the letters and resumes are weighed pretty heavily for most MSW programs! So just like wishingonuoft said, count on the experiences that make you unique! You never know (can you tell the positivity on here has rejuvenated me a bit? hehe)
  9. I'm really appreciative of the positivity and encouragement in this thread right now! Statistics and hearing others' experiences can definitely be daunting, but I agree with both of you that believing in yourself is important. I think that's something I forget to do a little too often, and I'm sure others can relate! I also agree with wishingonuoft that where there's a will, there's a way.... Thank you for reminding me that the final goal is what matters and not necessarily how long it takes to get there. It can be hard to remember that not getting in this round is OKAY! I often feel as though I am going to disappoint my parents and my partner if I don't get in... but I know that is pressure I am putting on myself and not representative of the truth at all. Bright side: should any of us miss out on this year's acceptances, it brings you one application period closer to getting your MSW! Woo!
  10. I share that... Also very nervous and not too confident in my applications. I'm just hoping that this will tell me where I stand (number of rejections, waitlists), but I already have ideas on where I need to improve. I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst so if anything else happens it will be a lovely surprise!
  11. Hey! I am not sure about acceptance rates so I can't really help with that. But I am currently finishing a sociology degree in Guelph too! Of the schools you mentioned, I applied to Western and Laurier, along with U of T and York. I believe that Laurier is one of the top schools in Ontario for social work (I may be wrong so someone please correct me if I am). Either way, just wanted to say hi to a fellow Gryphon! Good luck finishing up your studies.
  12. When you say it like that it sounds so close! Almost there!
  13. I completely agree! I tried to make a dentist appointment for September, but they only had weekdays left and I had a mini freak out because I realized I couldn't even plan an appointment because I have no idea if I'll be living at home or out of the city, in school or at a job... Feels weird being so unsure about everything
  14. 2 year u of t applicants! I know a couple of us didn't have "under review" stated on their applications yet but... my status finally changed! So exciting/scary!!
  15. Thank you!! It is a little tough to concentrate but I've been making a decent effort to just forget about the applications for now and work on school. Good luck to you as well!! I know this is an anxious time for everyone!
  16. I've been trying to make it sound like as little time as possible in my mind too! But I'm stuck in this weird bind where on the one hand I just want to know about the results of my applications, but on the other hand I am in the final semester of my undergrad and trying not to wish time away! Such a weird place to be in
  17. Just want to put this out there with people who understand... I can't believe we have to wait about another two months for 2 year programs!! The anticipation is already insane!
  18. I've been having trouble finding estimated decision dates for many schools! U of T's website says anywhere from mid-Feb to mid-April, which I already knew was the time period for decisions for most MSW programs (if not all) Does anyone know estimated decision times for specific schools?
  19. That's very helpful, I was getting worried when ROSI wasn't showing anything! Thank you!
  20. Hey guys! Just a quick question... I'm getting a little worried because many are saying that their application status has changed to "under review" for U of T. Mine still says "No Registration History"... could this just be because I am a 2 year applicant? Or the volume of the applications? I got mine in well within the deadline. SGS just changed to "documents received" not that long ago. Just have to calm my thoughts - it can be difficult not overthinking things like this when it comes to applications! Thanks!
